  1. Well thats good news that the Windows stack wouldnt be used but it would be nice to see some diagram that Windows Play To feature uses when it streams audio to a device such as the 807, Ive searched all over the internet but I cant find anything. I did come across a page that details how to enable flac support in WMP but I think it has something to do with directshow filters or something which worries me that it may use the Windows stack at some point thereby not being bit perfect anymore. One thing Ive noticed is when I use the play to feature to stream a music file to the receiver which is usually a lossless file, the audio drops out and skips a lot during playback. On the other hand, when I just have Windows Media player open in Windows 7 x64 and use the receiver's remote to browse the music folders on the computer I notice that it doesn't skip at playback or have any problems. Is this issue due to the data not being prioritized over other data on the network when going through my Dlink router? By the way, you should really look into getting the 807 if you were considering it, now is a good time to buy with the recent deals going around as its a very good quality receiver, I would definitely recommend it!
  2. Thanks for that info. I was using Windows media player 12 in WIndows 7 but I didnt know about the play to feature. I was just using the receiver to browse the files it listed. So when I use the play to feature and drag a file to there, it is bitstreamed and not processed by the windows mixer? When I use the play to feature a little window pops up with some information about the song and play functions such as stop and pause, and I noticed a volume control but it has no effect on the volume level so I was wondering if it uses the windows mixer if theres a volume control there like that. Another thing that I dont understand since Ive been using this feature on the 807 is the flac support. In the manual it clearly mentions all types of flac files are supported yet when im looking for those types of files on the receiver I dont see them. Is this because windows media player in windows 7 doesnt support those file types? Can I use another program that can use the DMS/DLNA to stream the flac files to the receiver?
  3. I have this receiver and I was wondering when I use it to browse music files on the computer and it streams to the receiver is this process a bit perfect transmission? Like does Windows send it through the kmixer or do any processing to the audio file when a request is made from the receiver to play an audio file through the network connection? Ive been listening to music files in this way and they sound amazing, especially ones that are higher than 16/44.1khz quality.
