  1. Why would you have to reset pure music so often? I now have an Ipad and I have iTap VNC client installed on it to control my Mac Mini. It works well once you learn how to use it. If you get iTap and put the newest Remote application on your Ipad you will be sorted for music. It really works incredibly well. Sorry but I have a popcorn hour for all my video needs so I can not help you with that. good luck , Skibum
  2. Is there some software out there that will allow me to connect up to my Headless Mac Mini with my Windows 7 machine via wifi? I can see some things that I will want to ocassionally do on my Mac Mini that would be easier if I could just "log on" to my Mac Mini from my desktop (which is a Windows 7 PC). I am looking at using Wave Editor (www.audiofile-engineering.com/waveeditor) for upsampling my files and it is only MAC based. Would be great to be able to install Wave Editor on the MAC and then operate it from my PC.... Is this possible?
  3. Thanks Chris! EXACTLY what I was looking for - much appreciated, Skibum
  4. Hello, I am a PC windows guy and I have never even used iTunes - no knowledge of Mac at all... Some questions: 1) I am going to use AIFF or WAV format for the Mac Mini. Most of my music is currently in FLAC on a Windows 7 PC. Is there a program out there (windows based) that can do the conversion ( FLAC to AIFF) of a lot of files accurately and easily? 2) Is there a guide or something out there that helps with the Mac Mini setup? I am going to use Pure Music software and a M2Tech hiFace USB/SPDIF interface. I want all control to come from my iTouch. I am interested in the general setup of a Mac Mini for a music server and things like keeping the Mac from going to sleep, what settings effect sound, etc. 3) For now all my music is going to go on the hard drive of the Mac Mini. All of my music is currently on a Windows 7 PC. Can I connect the Mac Mini somehow to transfer all of my music from my PC to the Mac? 4) I would like some software that is on the Mac Mini that will allow me to rip CD's directly. Is there any type of "automatic" software? What I would love is if I push a CD into the Mac Mini it automatically rips the disk to the hard drive in AIFF format and then ejects the disk back out. ???
  5. I am building my first music server and I am looking to buy a Mac Mini, M2Tech hiFace and Pure Music software. I have never had a MAC and always been on PC's running Windows - so I know NOTHING about MAC software... I am thinking to buy an iTouch or iPad (when it comes out), to control my Pure Music/Itunes software. Are there any other devices I should consider? What additional software do I need so that the handheld device will work with my Mac Mini?? Will this software work with Pure Music? Any other advice for a MAC newbie would of course be appreciated! Thanks - skibum
