  1. Hey guys, just wondered if I could get some quick advice .. I have a very much budget Dell laptop with a even more budget generic USB to optical converter I've had for a few years now that only cost about a tenner. This optical goes into a DacMagic 2 MKii, out of which is going fairly good (relative to the price of the rest of the kit) RCA into a Cambridge Audio azur 650A. Out of this is just a pair of Mordaunt-Short Aviano 1s using sufficient quality speaker cable. Although I know this is only a budget system, my only worry is that the USB to optical is holding it back a bit, although it sounds alright, it feels like there's something missing and has the potential to sound better. Is there any way I can improve this system for less than £100 for instance with a better external soundcard or something completely different I don't know about? Or am I just being ridiculously optimistic and should stop complaining unless I'm willing to find money for a better system? Anyway, thanks a lot for helping out a clueless idiot
