  1. Hi Folks, I have a 2010 iMac i3, I was running Windows 7 under bootcamp, however Windows developed a few issues, that I was not able to correct, so I have deleted the partition, and I intend to install from scratch. I have updated to Lion, my questions relates to the drivers, when installing Windows 7 under Snow Leopard, the Windows drivers are on the OS X install disc, can I use this disc to install the drivers under Lion, or should I follow the latest instructions, which suggest downloading the support software to disc or USB Drive. Regards Craig
  2. Thanks chaps, downloaded successfully. Any tips for settings, I only have a moderate Firestone Audio Dac, 16/44. I'll listen to it tomorrow. I think I was being a dummy with the link, It downloaded immediately from the last link, although once I signed into google, it downloaded from the second last link Cheers and Thanks again, Craig
  3. Ive tried both links, nothing in top left, I think I'm being redirected. Is there another route? Cheers Craig
  4. Freddie, Tried the link, but it keeps sending me to Google docs home, can't see any links on that page for BitPerfect, or am I missing something? Cheers Craig
  5. Mine is currently using 1.83G only Safari open as well, don't know how to provide a screen shot, but its looks similar to yours, I think getting Rid of Sophos has corrected the issue. Cheers Craig Any tips on how to provide the screen shot?
  6. Thanks for the link WG, I'll read it later this evening. I've been keeping an eye on it since removing Sophos, just before I sent it to sleep an hour ago it was showing total usage around 1.3G. It looks like Sophos was having an impact. Cheers Craig PS: Dave I've not been able to find Bitperfect, any tips?
  7. Chaps, I found an explanation on the net, inactive, is Ram that was in use but now available. I also remove Sophos from my Mac last night which seems to have released some Ram. I have never been able to get down to the 1.33 stated, and I rarely have loads open at any time, does bootcamp use Ram? Cheers Craig
  8. Thanks for the reply, I have not been able to find the link you are referring to, any further help would be appreciated. Regards Craig
  9. I considered posting this question under the official Lion thread, however that seems to be concentrating on Audio issues, so here goes. I have a 2010 iMac i3 with 8G of Ram, I use Decibel, Audirvana and iTunes for music playback, I've yet to decide which I prefer out of Decibel and Audirvana. When using the activity monitor to keep an eye on Ram usage, it would appear that the inactive part is taking up most of my allocation, currently showing 511 MB free and 5.64 GB Inactive. It appears that when I turn the iMac on the inactive figure increases constantly, without the user doing anything, is this normal, I am concerned this will affect the playback of Decibel and Audirvana, as the both use memory for playback. I had a similar issue with Snow Leopard, however the total usage never went above 4GB, whereas its currently at 7.39GB. Regards Craig
  10. I hold a J.River 15 licence, and have just recently installed Windows 7 on my iMac. I would like to use J.River and would like to know the process for downloading and activating J.River on a new PC,using my existing registration, I have plenty of restores left. I have posted a similar question on the J.River forum, no answer, hence posting here. Regards Craig
  11. To All, I have the current 21.5' iMac, entry level, with 8G of Ram. I received my full copy of Windows 7 Home Premium today, and tried installation via Bootcamp. All went well up until the final completion of the installation disc, Windows rebooted, and I was expecting to enter the Windows Set up phase, however all I got was a black screen. I left it for quite some time, however nothing happened. I tried both 32 and 64 bit versions, same result. Have any members encountered this problem, any help would be appreciated, I plan to use J.River and dBpoweramp on the windows part. Regards Craig (Update, a forum member on What Hifi pointed me to the solution on Apple's help pages, now up and running)
  12. Thanks chaps for the replies, a friend has the Apple Wired keyboard and mouse, I'll borrow this for the installation. Cheers Craig
  13. I plan to install Windows 7 Home Premium 64 on my i3 iMac, that shipped with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Will these function during the Windows 7 installation period, or do I require a USB keyboard and mouse? Regards Craig
  14. Hi All, I plan to install a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on my i3 iMac, 21.5 inch. I have had a look at the instructions provided by Apple, they are a little long winded as they cover XP, Vista and 7. Is anyone aware of more straight forward instructions that cover Windows 7 only. I also viewed a couple of You Tube tutorials, on some the users are inputting commands prior to installing the drivers, is this required, as nothing is stated by Apple. Any help would be appreciated. Regards Craig
  15. Thanks for the help Chris. Cheers Craig
