  1. Hi Vasilli - Thanks for your post. That Yulong unit looks compelling to me. It has the headphone jack as well as the option to output to speakers. I also like the options of having a USB / Toslink. Again, as a beginner I'm looking for an abundance of options in a unit just to start developing my listening preferences, this unit seems to have those things. Thanks for everyone's posts, they've been really helpful Ian
  2. Hey SandyK - Thanks for the suggestion - I'm looking into it at the moment. However, I am looking for something will output to a pair of speakers, would this unit be more than enough? I do love the bells and whistles of the DacMagic, though I dont' see a jack for headphones, is there a way to work around this with the outputs in the back? Thanks again! Ian
  3. Hi Everyone - I'm very new to the forum as well as new to the world of being an audiophile. I've done my share of reading to understand a few basic things about getting the most out of my listening experiences, one of which being equipment, specifically a DAC. I guess put simply, since I'm very new to even developing a preference as to how I would listen to my music (speakers or through headphones), I would love the option of both from a DAC. What do you guys recommend, that would be a good start for a newbie like me, to test the waters? The price range is anything $500 and below. I've taken a look at the Fubar IV, that have an out for speakers as well as for a headphone jack. That and I've considered the DacMagic, though it is without a headphone option. Please forgive my misinformation, if I'm just wreaking of it Thanks for your time! Ian
