  1. Thailand I'm a foreigner here so anyone else from this part of the world?
  2. i noticed, there's not a lot of people talking about interconnects. i think cables will be the first ones i will be upgrading. i got a kimber kable USB and i already noticed a huge difference in sound. now, i'm getting myslef balanced interconnects for my benchmark to the active dynaudio bm6a mkII....choosing between nordost baldur or furutech evolution. anyone have any expert opinion on these cables?
  3. Chris, may I suggest a dedicated thread for a members' gallery of their systems? Sort of like a computer audiophile porn.
  4. now i've got the ayre qb-9 tickling my fancy but that would mean a complete overhaul of my setup. hohumm....
  5. Or raid is the primary reason why it is a NAS? Can I connect a NAS to my time capsule via Ethernet?
  6. active speakers would you recommend to replace my dynaudios? i was actually contemplating on getting their BM9S subwooker to compliment the setup. i want a bit of thump to my music. btw, i also bought a kimber clarke USB cable...would that help a lot in the chain?
  7. Ultrasone HFI-780 and a Grado SR225 i listen to mostly rock and electronica
  8. thanks a lot for your advice everyone! i will stick to my current setup and will focus on improving sound quality by tweaking and maximizing hardware & software. i was on the verge of getting an integrated amp, DAC (both Bryston) and a dedicated headphone amp but it will cost me a lot! it doesn't seem like the BDA-1 and the DAC1 PRE is a big upgrade right?
  9. I just joined this forum and I must say it has elevated my knowledge of computer audio. Based on my limited experience on the subject, I have settled down to this current setup recommended to me: iTunes > iMac 2.8ghz > Benchmark DAC1 Pre > Dynaudio BM6A (connected via XLR) I felt that this was the easiest way (cheapest as well?) to get into audiophile quality, listening experience through a computer. If you guys can give me your advice on how I can improve this setup? Any opinions you can give to maximize my current hardware is welcome. If and when I'm prepared to upgrade, would a: iTunes > iMac > (name your brand) DAC > power amp > preamp > passive speakers a better setup? I know it's subjective but this is how limited my knowledge is.
