  2. I don't have the normal version of the cd, but to my ears the HD Tracks version sounds very good. It sure sounds much more open than the same tracks on the Rancho Texicana best-of that I compared it to. The bass seems to have more definition on the HD version and the guitars and synths now seem to be the different instruments that they are :-) Edit: I'm fully aware that comparing the HD Tracks download to a compilation isn't ideal as there probably are mastering differences (loudness war, anyone?) involved too, but it's the only thing I have to compare with :-)

  5. If you're on XP, win2000 or Vista, you can try Audiotester: vuplayer.com I tried it a few times and it seemed to work, but it hasn't been updated for a while. Edit: I assume that the AccurateRip testing part of PerfectTunes from DbPowerAmp would flag any corrupt files, provided that the file is in the accurateRip database. It does work fine flagging previously error-filled rips for me, so it might do the trick with corrupted files too Regards, Scirocco
  6. @wgscott I'd love to have a mac installer for Puddletag. Or alternatively an easy way to update it? I've managed to get it to run on my mac using the guide on here. It was quite an ordeal and not something for the faint-hearted, but it's a great app when it does run Scirocco PS: I like that bug
