  1. I still strongly feel that the best system is to have two. Have a great system for surround and a separate for 2 channel audio. I think the Nova is a great unit with built in DAC. I went with the Neuhaus Labs T-2 also with built in DAC but its pure tube amplification. They both sound great but I just prefer tube sound.
  2. I have had no problems with Airport Express streaming to my Neuhaus Labs amp. I have not heard any clicking sound. Problems could be related to distance from the wifi box.
  3. Viking, unless you want to spend a lot of money using the Airport sound great with a decent DAC. I am very happy with my sound. My whole system including speakers, amp w/dac and airport, under $2k.
  4. Digital Viking, the Apple Airport Express works great. For $99 you can't beat it. I have it hooked up to my Neuhaus Labs T-2 amp with built in DAC. With the Optical connector on the amp connected to the optical with mini plug on the Airport Express. My Mac is on one side of the house and my amp with speakers is on the other side. I can control my iTunes playlist with the free remote app from Apple with my iPhone. Anywhere in my home I can view album covers and change playlist.
  5. Eloise, thanks for the reply. I understand that the Mac has no idea what the capabilities of the DAC is. My only point was that you can change it on Toslink but not when using the USB DAC. Just gives you a little flexibility with the sound.
  6. The amp has two DAC's one for USB and the other for Toslink. When I hook up Toslink on my Mac I can change on MIDI the bit rate. Both inputs sound very good. On Songbird I mainly use the Toslink connection.
  7. NYC, I bought a high quality glass toslink on line and cannot hear the difference with my amp. I have a Neuhaus Labs amp that has toslink similar to the Peachtree with DAC. The amp came with a low cost plastic fiber toslink to mini. To be honest I may not have a good hearing but I have a time time telling the difference. You can hear a difference playing around with the settings on the MIDI panel. Sometimes 16 bit sounds good and other songs the 24 bit is out of this world.
  8. I have been going on this site for about a month now and decided to finally register when I read this topic. I bought the T-2 amp from Neuhaus Labs about three weeks ago. Now I am not a total audiophile but this amp to me sounds great. Another member said the specs weren't that great, but from what I know iTunes and USB DAC's are 16/44. I just plug by Mac to the USB the computer automatically reads it. I play my iTunes songs through the amp and it sounds fantastic. And by the way I have Grado headphones and they sound better than it ever did on my Rotel 5-1 receiver. HD Tracks songs are out of this world. Neuhaus even e-mailed me after the purchase to make sure all was well.
