  1. The best way to play SACD files is to use ISO2DSD5, a free program on Sonore: SONORE ISO2DSD This program will split the ISO files into individual dsf files which JRiver will play. Your DAC will need to handle DSF files.
  2. 1. Forget building your server and get a used Readynas 2100 for a few hundred $ and set it up for Raid 5. 2. Get an enclosure for your other drives and back up your Readynas to the other drives. 3. If you were using a MAC I would say to get Chronosync which would only back up the files that changed. I'm sure that others can suggest appropriate software for PC's. (Netgear has some backup software for the Readynas but I haven't used it.)
  3. In the case of my macbook plus two thunderbolt monitors, the multiple connections are just a daisy chain from the computer, to the first monitor, then from the first monitor to the second monitor. The thunderbolt storage units that I have seen have at least two thunderbolt ports so you can use one "in" and one "out".
  4. Ordered one this morning at 5 AM and they are no longer quoting December delivery, now it's January delivery.
  5. Support it? It would be nice if the finished it so that paying customers were not required to continue to use beta software. It seems to me they should finish what they have started before they focus on porting to other operating systems.
  6. 10.9.1 Beta was sent to developers two weeks ago.
  7. "Each build has become more and more stable"? Wow! Well, I am glad for you but that has certainly not been my experience. And no, I haven't posted on their forum; they must be well aware that the system is crashing frequently and don't need my help in telling them the obvious. As I said, i think they should finish the systems they have started, like MC19 or Mac, before they port to additional Operating Systems.
  8. I was wondering if you were experiencing problems with crashes since MC 19 became available. I rarely had any crashing issues with MC18, but MC19 crashes a lot, even with the latest MC updates and, of course, with all the Apple updates for OS10.9. When I went back to MC18 to see if it was crashing there was no problem, just with MC19. I wish that they would stabilize the system before they devote programming efforts to other operating systems Linux (etc).
  9. Why do people feel that it is their job to enforce other peoples rules. I am occasionally amazed at these examples of people failing to mind their own business.
  10. Go to "Utilities" - Audio MIDI Setup, then check to see that your DAC is showing there.
  11. JR 19 is beta software so it has some issues however you can either use the import function or you can set JR 19 for "Auto Import" (tools, options, library folders) and it will do the rest. I prefer the latter alternative.
  12. Here's the Red Wine site: Red Wine Audio Components, if you call, Vinnie will tell you whatever you want to know about his mods. But, as to the 120 itself, there is a final PCM conversion which is mentioned in more detail in another post on CA. I would have preferred not to have the PCM conversion but, as mentioned, the ability to play DSD DSF was what sold me on the AD120. Otherwise I was quite happy with the AK 100 which now needs to find a new home. This sounds pretty good, I am using the Tralucent 1+2 IEM's and they seem to be a good match.
