  1. Thanks for the response. You will see from the above post that the problem was the driver I was using. I got a v2 which was a line ball call. A bit harder to get a v1 here in Australia and for warranty return reasons if needed decided not to purchase direct from focusrite website. Also as you point out I still have the option of going to 192 khz (if I can hear the difference). Cheers
  2. Hi, I took delivery of a 2I2 yesterday (downloaded the very latest drivers) and have since recorded a few songs using Vinyl Studio software. No problems with the quality so far. I set the software gain to the max and used the gain dials on the 2I2 to control recording volume. I use a PC running windows 10 64 bit. The one thing that does intrigue me though is that Vinyl Studio suggests that the 2I2 is limited to 24/48 not 24/192 as claimed. Also, when I check the advanced tab for the device in the Windows Control Panel the max non-exclusive mode is also 24/48. I must confess that my aging ears could not distinguish between recording attempts at 48khz and 96khz but this could also be because the software is simply bit padding. Has anyone struck a similar issue? Thanks and regards
  3. Yes that was my concern. Thanks for revisiting this.
  4. Hi All This has been a great thread. Can anyone confirm that the 23 January 2017 release of firmware 83 - 1226 is ok to use for sacd ripping. Thanks
  5. I have just downloaded J River as I was experiencing problems with Media Monkey using any kernel streaming output plug-in. J River appears to have solved the problem. Can anyone please advise whether the "analyse audio" and "volume levelling" features are recommended and whethor or not they have a positive and negative impact on sound quality. I note in the wiki that the audio analysis may add tags to the file. Would this only be for MP3 format? Has anyone else compared the sound quality of JR with MM using WASAPI and if so is ther any audible difference? Thanks

  7. I am wondering whether there are any more recent experiences to add to this thread. I use media monkey v4 with w7 64 bit operating system and now all the "bit perfect" plug-ins that I have i.e ASIO, Steve Monks KS and WASAPI are producing periods of silence. Is this just the status quo or are there some settings I am unaware of. I have just tried Foobar 2000 with a similar result. Does anyone know of a media playing software with a good library management regime that operates sucessfully with W7 64 bit using a "bit perfect" solution? Thanks
  8. I am currently using a M2Tech HiFace into a digital input on my Cambridge Audio 740C (which I understand is essentially a DacMagic). I have been thinking about upgrading to the new MF M1 DAC A. I have a MF amp and use a PC running W7. I use Media Monkey V4. Does this seem like a good move? Thanks.
