  1. Reorganizing puts all music in a separate folder called "Music". I was able to move (drag & drop) all files back onto the external drive. Some songs are missing from folders as well as some cover cover art. Additionally some of the songs have been converted from aif to mp. Thanks for your help.
  2. When I checked the Organize Library feature, it removed all of the folders on the external drive. The folders are no longer visible on the external drive. I located all of the songs (more than 10,000 plus) listed individually in my "All Documents" folder. I want to get the folders (cd/albums) with the songs in them back onto the external drive. How do I do that?
  3. Here's what I did find just now. All of the songs (more than 10,00) show in my "All Documents" folder, individually listed. The question now is how do I get them back onto the external drive, and into their appropriate folders? Thanks again
  4. Thanks for responding. The folders were on the external drive. Whenever I opened the drive previously, I could see the folders (usually listed by artists) with the songs in them. Now, when I open the external drive, nothing is there. The music can still be played, but I can't find the folders anywhere. Anything you can do to help me recover the folders back onto the external drive will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  5. Version:1.0 StartHTML:0000000105 EndHTML:0000003539 StartFragment:0000002294 EndFragment:0000003503 REAKKY NEED HEKP ON THIS ONE! System: Mac Mini 10.6.8; iTunes 11.4; External 2TB hard drive All cds were saved (imported) via iTunes onto an external hard drive (“Music Library”) and appeared as individual folders (1,000 +) on the drive. In an attempt to organize the hard drive, on the iTunes page/bar, “File – library - organize library” then, “recognize files in the folder music library” is selected. Once organization is complete, none of the “folders” on the external hard drive (“Music Library”) show up. All music is playable on iTunes, but I would appreciate having all the folders back on the hard drive. Please advise on how to recover the folders/music onto the external hard drive. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP/ADVICE!
  6. I see it has been a while since your post. I recently purchased a TC Impact Twin and have been experimenting with it in my system. If you have figured out the various ways of incorporating it into your system, I would appreciate any assistance you could offer. If not, I'll let you know what I've come up with so far as I continue to make connections. Thanks
  7. A couple of general questions for anyone to assist with. I'm just getting into computer audiophile, so all help is greatly appreciated. I would like to know the best cable connection from a Macmini to Emotiva XDA-1 DAC. The Macmini is on one side of the room and the DAC on the other (they are approx. 30feet from each other). Additionally, I've just connected a Logitech Squeezebox Touch in another room, and after setting up several times, have noticed that some of the artwork for music does not appear on the squeezebox screen. Most of the artwork (cd cover art) was scanned, sized and cleaned up in Photoshop, then placed via "drag and drop" after music was imported into iTunes. Any information/suggestions on either of these issues will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  8. Thanks again for all your support. The more I think about this the more confusing it seems to get. The router (cisco) is not in line (being used or connected) for what I am trying to do. The router is being used in the office upstairs strictly for the mac in the office (ethernet connected) for the internet. I was just thinking: can I use two airport express units to get the signal to the powered speakers. Configuration: one of the express units located downstairs using USB to the macmini (server) location; the second express unit wll go upstairs connected to the powered speakers. Can the units be 'bridged' to work with each other to increase signal strength? Is that making any sense ?
  9. Thanks for your comments and the information. As stated below, I plan to go with the Extreme/Express pairing. Will post what happens after the set up. THANKS for your comments and help.
  10. Thanks for all your help and comments. OK, so it looks like I'll be purchasing the Extreme and pairing it with the Express. It will be a couple of weeks, but I'm looking forward to a successful connection! I'll post what happens after I set it up. Again THANKS for all the help and links to the articles! I'll definitely check them out ! Should you come across anything else, please don't hesitate to let me know.
  11. Just trying to avoid the expense of purchasing another unit (router), although this was a previous suggestion. The existing location of the current router (Cisco) and the location of the macmini would almost make it impossible to position another unit in a triangle. Also, if I have to spend additional money, do you think a Logitech would be a better choice? Thanks for your help.
  12. Thanks for your comment. The units are approximately 50 - 60 feet apart. Almost directly above each other, just on two different floors. The walls are sheetrock. The router (Cisco) is set up in the channel 1 position - longest distance. Someone suggested getting rid of the Cisco for the Extreme, stating that they were "made for each other". Just wanted to avoid that added expense. Also suggestion to get another Express and position it somewhere within the path of the macmini and the existing express. Comments ?
  13. I'm using a macmini as a music server which is located downstairs. I have attempted to connect wirelessly to Airport Express upstairs. When I set up the Airport close to the macmini, all works fine. However once I move it upstairs, the signal is too weak to reach. Can anyone suggest a wireless method of connecting the powered speakers upstairs to the mac mini downstairs? Any way to increase the signal strength to the Airport? Should I consider a Logitech setup ? All suggestions will be greatly appreciated. THANKS
