  1. The Airport is part on a wireless network using 802.11g, but as you pointed out, the relatively narrow bandwith (compared to 802.11n) should also affect the iTunes stream. The Airport, MacBook and Wifi router are located in the same room.
  2. I use a MacBook & Airport Express combo for streaming music from both Spotify and iTunes. Until now I have connected the Airport via RCA to my amplifier, but today I bought the Cambridge Audio DacMagic and connected it to the airport via Toslink. It works excellent with iTunes - greatly improving the sound quality. The problem appears when streaming from Spotify. With uneven intervalls between 5 sec - 1 min, it seems like the DacMagic loses the signal for a few milliseconds causing jitter and making listening impossible. I have tested different setups to try to identify the problem source: - The problem appears when playing spotify via wireless Airport Express connected by Toslink to the DacMagic. - The problem does not appear when playing iTunes in the same setup. - The problem does not appear when playing spotify via wireless Airport Express connected by RCA directly to the amplifier. - The problem does not appear when playing spotify via USB connection between the MacBook and DacMagic. Could it be that the signal from Spotify has a varying latency which the dac in the Airport Express can compensate for, but when bypassing the Airport dac and connecting the DacMagic via Toslink the problem appears? Has anyone experienced the same problem? Any suggestions? Greatful for help! /Jonas
