  1. Long time CA lurker here. I just wanted to say thank you to the CAD team for this excellent script. I ran version 1.2.2 on my system and it sounds fantastic!!! So far I haven't had any issues with playback or screen sharing. Keep up the great work! My system 2013 Mac Mini (Intel i7 CPU / 4gb Ram / 500GB Samsung SSD / Mavericks OS / A+ / Headless )
  2. Your post solved an issue I was having for over a year with my 2007 mac mini. I gave up on integer mode in Pure Music because I couldnt get rid of the faint pops/clicks. I eventually upgraded to Lion because I wasnt able to use integer and read that others got better sound with the new OS. I decided to rollback to Snow Leopard and give it another try but the pops came back. I went out today to get a powered usb hub and the pops are gone with integer!!! Im not excited about adding another link to the chain but the sound speaks for itself. Using Integer mode in Pure Music is by far the best sound I have ever heard from my system. Thank You jhwalker!!!
  3. invstbiker, I was experiencing the same issues with PM 1.8 you have described. I was able to solve the problem by simply selecting "Disable DSP Options" (Under Music Server Tab) I do wish I could find a better solution that would allow me to use this version to the fullest. I will say the sound improvement from 1.74a is worth the upgrade eventhough I didn't have a single issue with 1.74a in the same exact system. On a side note I still can't use Integer Mode without pops/clicks.
  4. You are right Zaphf, Unchecking strict device validation does allow for hog mode. Im disappointed that integer playback is not available. Even if it made no improvements I was curious to give it a try.
  5. It appears the hog mode is unavailable with version 1.8 and the Halide Bridge. Integer playback is grayed out as well. Im hoping this is just a glitch on my end.
  6. Roch,<br /> <br /> Thanks for the info regarding the BNC/RCA adapter. Its good to know that HD is providing a quality adapter with the Bridge. <br /> <br /> I also wanted to mention that I talked with Jonathan at Halide Design and was able to do an exchange for an RCA Bridge. I can't say enough about how great it was to deal with Halide Design, outstanding customer service! <br /> <br /> As soon as I receive the new Bridge I will do a comparison between the Bridge and the USB input of the Dac 1.5.
  7. As I mentioned " I foolishy assumed" that one of the coax inputs was a bnc connection. I dont see how price has anything to do with including a bnc input when Chinese dacs provide them for less than $300. I have no issues with BC not including BNC on the Dac 1.5 I just want to maximize the sound from my current setup without spending a lot of money replacing equipment or cables.
  8. This is slightly off topic but does relate to the DAC 1.5. When I ordered this DAC I foolishly assumed that one of the Coax inputs had a BNC connector to be used with my Halide Bridge converter. I guess I thought all of the BC Dacs included a BNC connector. The Bridge does come with an RCA adapter which I can use but I’m concerned about signal degradation using an adapter. Anyone know what chances I have to exchange the Bridge for an RCA model if I am about 10 days passed the 60 day return policy? Any suggestions on a high quality BNC to RCA adapter in the event I cannot exchange the Bridge? I have not found any adapters online other than the cheap bulk pieces used for commercial applications.
  9. I just ordered a Bel Canto Dac 1.5 to replace my three year old Benchmark Dac1. I have been eyeing the Dac 1.5 and a few others since last fall and I have to admit this review pushed me over the edge. I realize that this upgrade may be a sidestep rather than a forward step in the upgrade cycle and I am fine with that. I will be using the Dac 1.5 with the Halide Bridge(BNC) so I'm not worried about the USB performance, although I will probably do a USB/Bridge comparison just for fun.
  10. Be sure to add Proac to your list if budget permits. I believe the tablette anniversary model was just released. The D1 & D2 are excellent choices as well.
  11. Some of the well known companies in the USA. Although I know a few are under the umbrella of bigger companies not in the USA. - McIntosh - Bel Canto - Audio Research - Conrad Johnson - Manley Labs - Krell Audio - Cary Audio - Balanced Audio Technology - Wavelength - Ayre - Boulder Im sure I left out a lot of other great companies but this list should keep you busy.
  12. I'm pretty sure Lexicon was "In it for the money" when they slapped a nice faceplate on the $500 Oppo BDP-83 and charged $3500.<br /> <br /> All manufacturers are in it for the money. If they weren't they would be producing the gear for personal use only. Just like the guy that loves to home brew beer or the artist that never sells his paintings. <br /> <br />
  13. I didn't see the M1 series when I looked at their site. Nice catch!
  14. Pulled this from a post at Head-Fi. Not a lot of info yet but it does look interesting and just above the price point for the new Arcam DAC. I do wish it had a BNC jack for one of the coax inputs though. http://www.ecranlounge.com/produit-42522-1236-musical,fidelity,convertisseur,dac,hi,fi,m1,dac.htm & http://www.whathifi.com/News/Musical-Fidelity-introduces-upsampling-DAC-and-USB-input-headphone-amplifier/
  15. My vote goes to: Black/Black How much does the internal AC/DC brick cost for the H10.ODD? Does this provide power to SATA devices like SSD & DVD drives?
