Hey F1. Have you or any of the other LIO-8 owners out there ever tried AES in versus Firewire? All the talk about USB scrubbers got me thinking. Although, I seem to recall BJ at Metric Halo not buying into the possibly of ground plane noise, etc. on the Firewire input compromising sound quality.

Bill, I am not trying to curate this thread...:-)....but you are Dir of Marketing for PS Audio right? Aren't suppliers supposed to declare themselves via their signature or something? BTW, I think your comments on this thread are pretty right on.

+1 also. Most curated threads are fine in my experience. I think the curated threads in question suffered from a combination of needless verbosity, an over controlling tone and an uncomfortable closeness to the supplier of the device being reviewed.

Ah, now that I looked at that web site I can see that it is Purrin's list! Yeah, I agree with your comments that all of these comparisons should just be taken as a guide and not the gospel.

Thanks for posting that chart! An interesting way to analyze the DAC field. Based on a cursory review of the chart, I see a lot of similarities to Purrin's list.

I have seen this statement a couple of times now. Is the inference the Yggy does not do amplified music well or as well?

I love Bruno. I have his NCORE amps. I am sure is new DAC is killer but it's also very expensive.

I pinged Metric Halo support and got a fast response. Q. Will the coming 3D upgrade improve audio playback performance? Yes, I know the LIO-8 is already outstanding…:-). A. The clock performance is expected to improve by an order of magnitude. Wonder how an order of magnitude improvement in clock performance will sound ? :-).

Be nice to see a Regen, Recovery and Intona comparison.
