1. Hi Chris,

Makes sense now! I don't use iTunes so I did not know this. As you say, it would certainly be detrimental to the listening experience. Thanks for the education.

Regards,
Bob

P.S. After reading my original question again, I realized it might have sounded a bit arrogant. If it seemed so to you too, I apologize.
 2. Chris,

I don't understand the reason for playlists based on sample rates. Are you listening to the technology or the music?

Regards,
Bob
 3. I don't see anything either, but I'm thinking the code won't show up until the opening on Oct. 2.

Question for Chris - is the promo code only for Audiophile 24/96 tracks or is it good for any purchase?

Thanks.

Bob
 4. I wonder what drove their decision to use through-hole technology instead of surface mount. Seems a bit dated. I can't imagine there is any performance advantage.

Bob
 5. Baxtus,

As far as mean "Mr. Download" goes, HD Tracks will email you a receipt for your download purchase. Just keep that if you are concerned.

If you lose your download, I don't think HD Tracks, or any other download service, will replace it. It is up to you to backup your files. I backup my music twice - once to a portable drive that resides next to my computer and is used as my primary PC backup and once to a portable drive that resides in a 'secret' place :-)) My philosopy is that I have too much time and money invested in music on my music server to take any chances. Storage is inexpensive today.

Good listening,
Bob
 6. Hi Chris,

Just received an email from HD Tracks regarding this. I have made a few purchases from them and am very satisfied.

About your comment: "HDtracks is the only digital music store on the web that sells CD quality uncompressed and losses albums, all without DRM, and always with complete album art and PDF liner notes." Is this true? What about Linn's downloads? I have purchased FLAC downloads from them. Or did I misunderstand your statement?

By the way, I just received my PS Audio DLIII that I asked you about in another post. As soon as my Blue Jeans coax cable gets here I will hook it up. Looking forward to it!

Regards,
Bob
 7. Chris,

Thanks for the review of the DLIII. I am seriously thinking of buying one for my Squeezebox 3. Do you think it would be a worthwhile addition, or is it overkill?

I am not clear about two of the inputs. Is there any advantage of one over the other (coax vs. optical?) Is one better for the SB3? Also, for the SB3, is 24/96 or 24/192 upsampling better? Or is it 'simply' a matter of personal taste?

As a new viewer, I am enjoying Computer Audiophile. Thanks for your patience with my questions.

Regards,
Bob
