  2. I suppose having the antipodes and macbook pro play local files would give more definitive answers. Afterall we all aim for the highest sq and from my experience tidal streaming is not up to the same level of local playback.
  3. are u guys running roon as well? if so then decreasing the buffer size should bring higher transparency and quicker tempo (for direct usb connection without the rendu/sotm). i also found deleting all the apps (save roonready in my setup) in the renderer brought another degree of transparency. good writeup and great contribution to the community!
  4. have u disconnected the usb cable from the dx? or try switch the dx out of roonready mode first? i never encountered your problem.
  5. go to myantipodes.com and you should see both the rendu and the dx showing up. go to appswitcher of rendu and select roon ready mode.
  6. I have a similar setup, but i ended up with the dx3 as a roon and file server and a microrendu as a renderer, this combo gives the best sound for me. the dual lan port of the dx3 providing a direct path to the rendu is one big factor in the jump in sq.
  7. does anyone know if the rme adi dac is supported?
  8. I notice my Rockna Wavedream dac is not on the list. Is it necessary to send the dac diagnosis info to sonore to process for the dac to be supported?

    HQ Player

I have some dsd 256 files but I can only play dsd 128 in my current setup. So I will need to look into those dsdiff/dsf settings, which i have not done before. But is it true that the filter and modulator settings in the main interface also apply to dsd resampling as well? Best regards
  10. Hi you would have try and decide yourself. I left the volume equal for both, but Roon always seems to sound 'louder' with no apparent reason, and thats' why I tried the SDM gain in HQP.
  11. Hi there, after 2.5, it seems I cant run the hq player extreme filters anymore, there's a lot of shutters. I can still run the 2-stage versions though. I haven't changed any other hardware. Do others have the same problem? Is the new os more taxing on the server side?
  12. I have some new findings. If I select the +6db gain option in HQ player, I get more Roon-like sound, i.e. more dynamics. On the other hand if I reduce the SDM gain adjustment in Roon (to -3db in my case), I get Roon sound more like HQ player, i.e. more refinement. Perhaps it's a gain issue. The two players now sound very close to one another.
  13. got my new card and indeed everything works now. great!
  14. yes i have similar experience that roon and hq player are very close in sq (playing converted dsd files). in fact roon conversion runs much faster and sounds more dynamic, where hq player has more refined sound but a little restrained comparatively. this could be due to my computer not being fast enough for hq player.
