  1. I was wondering? How do I rip SACD's on my Oppo 103?
  2. Tried using the GUI ISO to DSD tool last weekend for the very first time. I was using the DOS command line before and extracted hundreds of ISO's with it. Unfortunately, I discovered the the GUI version does not create the extended metadata tags correctly and tags are missing for Catalog # and ISRC even though they are in the .cue file. I had to go back to the old methodology. Attached are extended tag info for CMD vs GUI
  3. Another update. I was able to create a custom column in MP3Tag that finally exposed the catalog number. The field was not part of the index of available fields to choose from. Time to uninstall "Tag & Rename".
  4. I just tried another Tag Editing tool called "Tag & Rename". The Catalog # is in fact embedded with the metadata . I will send an email to the developer of MP3Tag to see if they can expose it. Thanks again Bogi!!
  5. Thanks Bogi!! I will experiment with some other tools to see if I can expose the Catalog Number that should be embedded with the metadata in the dsf's. The end game for me is to create a database of all of the titles in my collection. The catalog number is key to this process.
  6. Right. Foobar is reading the *.cue file in each folder and is not scraping each *.dsf for metadata. These are default columns that I have displayed in Mp3Tag. The Comment is not currently leveraged during the metadata extraction when converting from ISO to DFF to DSF. I understand that it does nothing for the 500 that I have already rendered but would be nice if we could map to it in the future.
  7. Hi Bogi, Thanks for the reply. I don't user foobar2000 but I'm assuming that the data is coming from the *.cue file that gets created during the extraction. I would just like to see the Comment field utilized during the metadata extraction process with the catalog number.
  8. Not sure if this is best place to voice this request but here it goes. I have ripped and extracted about 500 SACD's from my library. The process is smooth and generally pain free except when the SACD authoring is missing or incomplete. Which is the publisher's faullt. When this happens I need to rebuild the metadata with Mp3Tag. In my collection I have many versions/releases of the same title. The iso2dsf tool is great but it would be even greater if it wrote the Catalog ID to the Comment field of the metadata tag. That way I could move individual songs around and know exactly what version/release I'm playing. I know the that Catalog is being captured because it is written into the header of CUE file.
  9. I ended up purchasing a Oppo Sonica DAC because the price/performance could not be ignored. Sounds great so far.
  10. Yeah, the tags and metadata is fine. When I transition to a proper music player it will be moot.
  11. I completely understand the logic and reasoning to strip out reserved or offending characters from the file name. I'm currently playing my dsf through the USB port on my AVR. The AVR displays the file system contents first when I am surfing for music. The metadata comes into play only when you're playing the track. Not a big issue and it will probably go away completely when I get my dedicated DAC and start using a real player.
  12. Bogi, great tool. Thank you very much. Are there any switches in the ISO2DSF configuration to preserve a single quote in the song file name. I have to go and back re-edit my files names or regenerate them again against the metadata. For example the song "I've been waiting for You" gets generated as "I Ve Been Waiting For You.dsf"

  14. I don't know, they were not specific about the scope. It could be either or both.
  15. Most of the sites that are promoting the Altair have this blurb.... "Future features planned include DSD Upsampling, Room Acoustic Treatment and MQA support. All these features can be delivered through automatic online updates without user’s attention." I contacted Auralic and asked when it was going become available they said "Hopefully this month"
