Hi I am currently using the a Pair of Genelec's 4" monitor with Matrix Audio Mini-i pro 2015 version for my computer desktop. I use this for listening to music via ROON player with flac, AND DSD files. I see Matrix Audio has came out with two NEW units.
The first one is a Matrix Audio Mini-i Pro 2 ($519.99 ES9016S the other Maxtrix Audio Quattro II DAC ($899 ES9018S). I have listened to the M40 and you are getting lower end parts in it compared to the 8020 or 8030's. I will be running a ARCAM FMJ A19 with Monitor Audio Bronze 2 speakers for a little more bass when listening to music through the Matrix Mini I Pro 2015 version I own. I also computer game and if you get to big of a speaker is will sound very boomy where you can not hear people coming up behind you and knifing you.. I also had a pair a Adam Audio Artist 5 speakers but sold them. The Genelec's are extremely clean for the money. Also Genelec's hold there resale value nicely keep the box and you should get most of your money's back when you sell. Matrix Audio is a really good DAC I think it was better then my Oppo HA-1 DAC that I sold as well. My 2 cents..
