Thanks. I guess it's too obvious for most on this thread, but...what do I do with the NAA files I downloaded from Signalyst site? How to install or do I need to move to a particular directory? lol, sorry

Now that I have the NAA, how do I install it? And, on which computer? I have the hard disk with my music on my desktop in my office and my DAC and amp in my living room on a laptop. Both are i5 machines but the desktop has 24 gig memory while the laptop only has 4 gig.

The computer with the music hard drive is in another room. I moved that hard drive when my old computer died. My DAC and audio amp and speakers are in the living room. I can't really change that. I need the desktop computer in my office. Can someone point me to where to get the NAA for windows. I'd like to try to set that up. Google does not give me anything.

Ohh...Thanks. I think the NAA is a linux program, right? I am using win10 on both machines and have them networked, so I can access my music from my HqPlayer machine. But, sometimes it doesn't work well. I took it to mean that the data transfer is not fast enough from one machine to the other. Networking is something I have never used before. I have been forced into this because the machine that had my music and HqPlayer on died. It was old anyway. So I am useing my laptop to run HqPlayer and feed my DAC.

Where can I find info on setting up a NAA. My music is on one machine and HqPlayer and my DAC are on another machine. Would the NAA allow me to send from one machine to the other?

Does anyone here use AP Linux? I am looking at installing Ubuntu Mint just to run HqPlayer. Wondering if a distro "optimized" for audio makes much difference to sound quality.

It wasn't converted. I think the file extension was changed. It no longer plays in hqplayer, when it used to. I admit I am grasping at straws here. I have talked with Miska at length about this and can find no reason for hqplayer crashing with files that used to play fine. This is something I just noticed this morning. That the file extension is not what I remember for this file. Hence the question if someone else has seen their file extension changed inexplicably.

I didn't think so either, but a file that used to play in hqplayer no longer does. It crashes hqplayer. It seems to have been changed from either a wav file or a dsf file to a flac file, and not by me.

I have been fighting Hqplayer crashing with some of my files for a while. Ever since win10 update to creator edition. I just noticed that a file that crashes Hqplayer looks like it has been changed from DSD to FLAC without my knowledge. Has anyone seen win10 do this? I know it will try to change default programs to it's own but have not seen it change a file extension before. Or am I imagining things.

I'm sure you know that win 10 will not allow you to defer updates for long. My alternatives at this time is to install linux ubuntu, or use a hard disk that has win 7 on it. Win 7 is easy for me and I wouldn't have to buy another license for hqplayer. Can someone tell me if sound quality on win 7 is comparable to ubuntu?

I'v been having nothing but trouble with playing files either from my directory or from the library in hqplayer. I think it is a windows10 issue. I think win10 and hqplayer aren't communicating too well. Considering installing Linux and dual booting. Or going back to windows 7 on a dual boot as well. Any advice would be appreciated.
