I've been told that next step is the Lumin U1X - which from what I can see is just lumin throwing in the X1 power supply at a discount.

Had anyone had a chance to compare the U1 (not the mini) vs the U2 mini with upgraded power supply? U1 is hard to find and still more expensive used than a new U2 mini... Thanks!

Hey everyone I don't post much on this site but thought I would ask the experts. So i wanted a pc I could run hdmi to my tv and usb to my dac. So I was on Kijiji - canadas criags list and found a Dell vostro 260s for $60. I thought it was a cheap bargain to see if this would give me any sort of decent audio quality. So I brought it home hooked it up and to my surprise it sounded really really good. I was shocked to be honest for $60 i was blown away. The only issue I have is one its big and two theres some seriously loud fan noise after the unit has been running a while. So i thought if this thing sounds this good I bet I with some more money I can get something that sounds even better. So I got a fanless Intel nuc i5 got it home plugged it in and yuck... It did not sound as good as the Dell for some reason? Then I puchased A Musical Paradise Server with a linear power supply and again yuck... Anyone know what the deal is?
