As a fairly new HQPlayer user I have a basic question about the settings tabs. I’m currently upsampling everything to DSD256 for my Holo Audio May KTE DAC. Under this situation are any settings under the PCM tab involved in the process or do I just need to concern myself with the SDM tab settings? I’ve noticed that the Roon Signal Path shows the same filters/settings for any resolution from 16/44.1 to DSD64.

Qobuz has that album in 24/192 so I gave it a listen. I was surprised as I found the music way more accessible than I expected based on your description and what I normally listen to. And as you said, the sound is superb. That’s one of the things I like about Qobuz, someone says “I like this” and then I can try it and see if I do as well. I don’t typically stream music, I use Qobuz for exploration and then if I like something, I buy it. This one is on the list. I’m not normally a bass head but I suspect that the opening to Midnight Sugar could really move some air on your system if you wanted it to. I assume you’re going to video your discussion? I certainly hope so as I won’t be able to attend in person.

Considering the amount of time I spent trying to get this working on my own I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I think I'll go with laugh. You were the one that helped me with the settings to use in Audacity to convert my file from stereo to mono and once again have come to my rescue. Thanks so much for your help. I'm not sure there's going to be anything I can help you with in the future that you don't already know but I can hope. Thanks again.

For some reason I just can't get convolution to work. These are some screen captures of my settings and results as well as the log file when trying to use convolution. I hope I've just selected the wrong choices or missed a step as I'd like to use my headphone convolution files with HQP if it's possible. Thanks for getting back to me. I looked in the manual but didn’t have any luck finding it previously. The manual mentioned the file was hidden so it took command, shift, period to come up with the log which explains why a search didn’t show it. I’ll see if I can figure out what part of it to screen capture so I can post it. Thanks again.

Can you tell me where to find the log file on a Mac? I’ve turned it on in the Advanced setting, quit HQP and restarted it but after getting the error that my Convolution settings aren’t correct, I can’t come up with the log file itself. I’ve searched for HQPlayer and .log without success. Thanks.

Thanks for giving me a hand with this. I’m using the Convolution setup, not Matrix. I think my next step is to start over splitting the file just in case I messed up something but it’s too late to mess with it tonight. Tomorrow’s another day. Thanks again.

I did that but when I try to use those files I get an error at the bottom of the HQPlayer window that says, no impulse response for channel 2, convolution disabled. Not sure what I did wrong.

Prior to getting HQP I was using convolution filters from Mitch Barnett with my headphones. I'd like to use them in HQP but according to the manual it's looking for mono wav files and I believe the ones that I have are stereo. At least, when I unzipped the file I use in Roon I appear to have a set of single files for each resolution. Is there a way to use these files or convert them to something usable? If I can use them do I just load the 3528.wav file into each channel? I'm under the impression I'm not to use them in Roon along with HQP as the music files would no longer be bit perfect but could someone tell me what problems that would cause? I'm aware I could just try it and see what happens but I wouldn't mind having a little understanding of why I shouldn't. Thanks.
