  1. Hi Barrows, I am not connected to your first statement so I will go look for this Ed Meitner interview............ As for the rest I can only agree. THX for your advice.
  2. Sorry to elaborate but... Using a clock of high performance; assume things might get better with a clock of excellent performance ?! With same respect, I do not share your statement concerning the "degradation" of clock signals over distance. Surely every EM wave propagation over a cable will have it's bandwidth limited but would not call this "degradation". Think the (matching) EM characteristics of the sender, the cable and the receiver (call it characteristic impedance's) are much more important to maintain signal integrity. So IMHO locating clock and circuit close to each other is no guarantee for an optimal solution per definition. As example, SotM have chosen 10 MHz sine waves (instead of square waves) as external clocking signal so no risk of phase distortion or bandwidth limitations caused by cabling; don't know whether this works best but seems to me as a technically charming solution.
  3. Hi Barrows, thx for your reply. Watched & read some inspiring reviews on the web with the connection of an even better (and must admit: expensive) external clock. As these external clocks have multiple outputs it seems to be a no brainier to connect it to all gear equipped with such a connection or am I missing something ?
  4. Tempted to replace my micro-rendu for the optical..... Ether regen already part of the system and has possibility for external master clock. Any chance/benefit the optical rendu will be equipped with this possibility so both can be connected to a master clock module (f.e. Mutec or SotM)?
  5. Waiting for my LPS 1-2/ISO regen combo to be delivered; Sibilance is an issue I would like have reduced ! Hope it will bring this result to my system too.
  6. Yes, really. Rob Watts of Chord himself confirmed this right here: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/chord-electronics-qutest-dac-official-thread.869417/page-2#post-13964721 Thanks for your info; This is really great news!!! Currently waiting for the delivery of my LPS1-2/ISO-regen combo, I have planned to replace my Hugo for a Qutest as a next step. Wondering what would the optimal PS for the Qutest, I would be interested to read listerning impressions of the Qutest/LPS1-2 combination.
  7. This did the trick !! thx for this help. best Peter
  8. The issue with the rendu in squeezelite mode happened again yesterday after installing the newest software-update. After updating I could not find a way to restart the rendu in squeezelite mode. All other modes could be started, but squeezelite in mode "stopped" and could not be restarted. Tried reboots, power switching, switch off power during the night, etc. Finally the old SD card was plugged in and voilà: Issue solved !! Maybe a corrupt SD card, could that be possible........... ?!
  9. Found my old SD card for the Rendu and planned to exchange with the current one. However trying to reproduce the described issue one more time; Changing from radio paradise to a Jennifer Warnes album (PCM) to Jennifer Warnes (DSF)!! and all other dsf's and dff's played without any problem today ! Looks like the issue is solved now but have no idea why ?! Fingers crossed !! best Peter
  10. Hi @vortecj, I will have a look and plan to install the old SD card (software) to see if this solves the issue. I'll report back.... best Peter
  11. Hi @vortecjr, The mR was updated yesterday noticing that a squeezelite update was involved. However, the same issue as there was during the last months.
  12. Enjoying the microrendu since the day of its arrival I am facing a new problem during the last months: My mR is used in squeezelite mode and sounding terrific but when I switch over to play DSD files (DSF via DoP to my Chord Hugo) the mR disappears as player in the iPeng app. In the webbrowser of the rendu the information is that the squeezelite mode has "stopped". It is then possible to switch and activate other modes but squeezelite mode is not restartable. Rebooting the mR causes the next problem that it can't be found in the browser. (the mR has a fixed IP address). The only way to solve this problem is to switch off/on the power to the mR, make sure that the music stream is not dsf/DoP, and restart squeezelite mode! This is repeatable ............ Anyone having the same issues and much more important: Any suggestion to solve this ? All help appreciated as I certainly enjoyed the dsf format.
  13. Hi 2112, I'm streaming with microrendu/LPS-1 & Chord Hugo. Microrendu in queezelite mode. Whenever power has goes down it is necessary in my system to open the browser of the rendu and click on the squeezelite app again. Though the screen info gives "squeezelite active", clicking on the squeezelite mode again returns with "squeezelite starting" and voilà, music is streaming. Hope this helps........ Peter
