  1. Meridimac : interested in your experience with placing the ENO before or after the ER in the chain : what is the impact on SQ. I'm juggling with the same situation with a weaversa lan filter (The filter works pretty well just before the DAC but I want to test what would happen before the ER.
  2. I’ve used the Afterdark APC modules+cable. They came as a kit. So I can’t tell. I would not believe so.
  3. I’ve used since 2021 the Cisco AOC, the 1475 and recently the 1475APC. The 1475APC is a bit more detailed than the regular 1475. I’ve had the Cisco AOC since before the 1475 and thought it was very good.however the 1475 and the APC won over it because of its forward bass and details (at the cost of some meaty lushness). However, since adding a waversa Ethernet filter, the real deal and the real meat is with the Cisco. In my system context, it has THE best balance between realism, bass and details). This is, I would think, is highly dependent on the system and on Ethernet signal treatment.. my 2cents.
  4. Received my optical module deluxe (new version). Thanks SGC!! Just a word playing for 30min cold out of the box (replacing a mikrotik switch) : wow! Bass, snap and textures. This adds up over the etherregen/ ad clock (double crown) / ad blackrice ground box/ ad aoc Cisco sfp . In didn’t think my Larsen 7s could make such bass. :-)
  5. Just got one and connected it to my AD Clock and EtherREGEN and.. wow! nothing more to say. I was sceptical but wanted to experiment with ground boxes. I'm now a convert...
  6. On my side the mikrotik works with the latest firmware update. it didm't before when I setting the port to 1g
  7. Sorry I cannot comment on the 1471 please have a look on eBay. This is the best way to snap old finisar sfp
  8. You have to experiment! 1318 - very forward but settles after a while 1321, 1324 : I like both and both are 1G 1421, 1475 : I like the later your switch needs to have it's ports set at 1G instead of 10G. My mikrotik switch add to be updated to 2.13 before everything worked. Currently I use Cisco AOE from afetrDark and I get a very good results (to a while to make it work tough because of the mikrotik firmware). I was not able to make the finisar work on booth of my Cisco 2960 routers (probably because of the fact that they are not Cisco SFP... or my incompetency... or both!). Anyway. This is my humble experience. Phil
  9. Gush, I had the afterdark clock cable connected the wrong way... Wow, this really makes a difference. Thanks for this!
  10. @Confused, I had the same problem. Check the tx voltage setting. Mine was 12v and I was expecting it to be 9v. I had to install a jumper on r342.
  11. Hi @austinpop, your writing was part of my exploration. thanks!
  12. Hi, soundlogic, no the cybershaft is used as it is, with a 50ohm cable provided by Cybershaft (I read elsewhere that they were not bad at all). I specified that the clock would be used with the mutec which has a 75ohm connector. Kenji Hasegawa from Cybershaft assured me that this would work well and it seems to be so. The clock has been running for 3 days now. Everything slowly is improving, with more detail and more finess. I will report if this still improves later on in the first 30 days. Cheers! Phil
