  1. Hi @AudioPhil, Thanks for the reply. As I’m still on Windows 10, would that cause any issues 4.00? I’m not looking to upgrade windows as I’d need to replace the MB and CPU and it sounds so sweet now Cheers, Shane

    Fidelizer 8.0

So, I purchased Fidelizer Pro many moons ago, in fact it was back in 2016 and during those 7 years I’ve heard big improvements with 8.0 being one of the biggest until 8:10 I’m not really sure how @Windows X has managed to transform 8:9 so much, but my system sounds more alive than it every has and I thought it was fantastic before Its made me purchase an SSD this week to store my music on and then alter a few power options for my HDD’s as I no longer be using them for the musical part of my system and it sounds so good, I’m as happy as can be I suspect that streaming is now becoming the norm and people like me who still archive CD’s for playback is more niche than ever, but I’ve got to say, it’s a sad day that the Fidelizer software won’t receive any further updates. But in truth, after all the years I’ve had out of the program and what joy it’s still bring today, I’ve got to say thanks as listening to music is a part of my life and your program makes it a little sweeter For those who don’t understand what this program has to offer, you only need to try the free version to hear a difference and with the Pro, you just get a lot more of what you’ve heard I also bought Audioengine Optimizer and Process Lasso and out of the three, Fidelizer is the one where my ears noticed massive improvements. I know the other programs have done their part as it’s noticeable, but if you are trying home build yourself, Fidelizer is an absolute must in my opinion if you value your pc’s musical abilities For those that are interested, my systems an aging fanless Intel i5 system with 32GB of ddr3l memory plus, SOtM TX-USBExp Card hooked up via Chord Signature ARAY USB to a Teac UD-501 running the previous ASIO driver which seems to have been removed from the Teac website. there are a few more bits plus I also use it for movies to via an alternative boot, but for music alone with with jRiver and jRemote as the interface, that’s about it from PC to DAC. Most of the features within jRiver have been turned off over the 7 years I’ve been using it as it just see it as a fantastic interface remote solution from my phone/pad I actually played at upsampling to DSD and using SOX and found that music just sounds so more dynamic when things are just left alone. I also store everything as WAV files and are archived using dBpowerAmp (for an accuraty). The other reason I use WAV is I get fatigued with FLAC and I’m not saying I can hear a difference, but after listing for any length of time, then enjoy isn’t the same with me wanting to turn it off. So on some level my ears are detecting something even though audibly I cannot hear it Once again, cheers Keetakawee for all your work on this software and I hope people will keep supporting you with this great software as it’s one of a kind
  3. I think I can help a little with why the lack of reviews. Remember Onkyo owned the brand when the first UD-501 was released and it wasn’t a policy of Onkyo to take products for review due them usually getting negatively marked down as they didn’t want to pay for advertising and sadly many good reviews do warrant advertising by certain publications which of course is impossible to prove, but is common knowledge I would’ve hoped that reviews would have arrived since the companies have been taken over, but haven’t seen any as yet When I originally tested the UD-501 when it was first released, it was a hidden gem and I even purchased one as I couldn’t quite believe it. At the time my boss had an esoteric DAC and it performed to the same level as his which was about £4k at the time. I also remember lending one to a record producer I knew and he was astonished and he ended up buying one to I even tried it in a £20k Krell system and it was indistinguishable from the Krell’s high quality DACs which was proof to me it was better than its price point I was also lucky enough to hear the UD-505x the other day and have to report, compared to the UD-501, is still sounds fantastic although the newer 505x was a little smoother in its deliverance round the edges just a fraction As for the UD-701, I expect it to be a killer when compared to other similarly priced DAC or even DAC’s costing two to three times it’s value As for newer reviews, the US-505x or UD-701 will, I hope get the reviews they deserve, but as they deliver more the better electronics, it might be hard for a novice reviewer to truly appreciate how these DAC really come to life The reason I say this is when comparing my UD-501 to products around its price point, it’s a bit lifeless, yet if you can bring the right toys to it, it will deliver a true feast for your ears and these products usually cost a small fortune and are way above the level of where Teac’s sit meaning the person who is looking for this kind of DAC will ignore it Myself, it transformed the way I enjoy music. I build myself a media server and since then, I’ve never looked back
  4. Any word from the developers regarding testing on the beta versions of Windows 11? Audiophile Optimizer @AudioPhil or Fidelizer @Windows X Cannot see anything on here even though it’s not meant to be coming till October, which will some be upon up, so it would be interesting to know if anything is happening in the background Cheers, 🙂
  5. I know when I’ve tried this option on JRiver, I feel a part of the musical timing is compromised. So I’ve kept it unchecked. In fact I have everything switched off where possible and allow my DAC to work with the signal that is sent. I’ve found it products a far better sound that allowing JRiver to manipulate it.
  6. Hi Phil Hope you and Claudia are well and keeping safe through the Pandemic. Just a curiosity question, have you anything in the pipeline with moving forward with AudiophileOptmizer 3.00? Cheers, Shane
  7. So I’ve just found out the UK site for HDTracks has been closed. What are others using as I’ve taken a look at the US site and everything I click is not available in the U.K. market 😞
  8. Hi all, it’s been a little while since I posted anything, but just upgraded to 3.0 and even though I’ve only had an hours play time with it since installed, what a difference. More transparency, sound elevated stronger bass too. if you haven’t already made the upgrade, do support Phil, don’t delay, it really is brilliant. Loving the extra shell too, now I can open that to do a reboot or shutdown my system has the latest installed versions of windows 10 Pro, Fidelizer Pro, jRiver and Process Lasso on it and have seen no problems
  9. I’ve heard 8.3 is coming soon, so if your unsure about it, I’d wait until it’s launch as it seems Microsoft has changed a few bits on W10 which has altered the way it sound (or at least that what some are saying) myself, I’ve used it for quite some time and have found it to vastly improve the audio performance. I do use it in conjunction with AudioOptimizer and Process Lass which I feel does benefit musical playback too
  10. Hi all, as I have a quite a few DVD, blu-ray audio music disc’s which I’ve converted into wav files, are there any programs out there which enable you to check that the software being used to archive these onto the HDD are doing their job correctly. I can see that HDTracks uses a program called “bitter” and wondering if others have tried it to check there files? cheers,

    Process Lasso

having used process lasso for a quite a while, I found that running it in bitsum high performance mode together with selecting the program you wish to use for audio in real time. I also isolated that program so it runs in a single core mode 0 and everything else shares 2/3 with fidelizer running on core 1. I also upped the memory for my audio program. But apart from that, I’ve not dabbled any further I also know that fidelizer also runs the audio program in real time and single core mode now which must mean it’s a good thing As I only use this PC for playing audio via a multi-boot w10 pc, I haven’t found lose of other features running process lasso in that configuration hope that helps others using it in the same way
  12. As all cables are basically aerials, unwanted interference can be a problem and although a digital cable is either sending information or not, I would surmise that the shielding on the Fisual cable is doing it job properly. On another note, I would try and find out where the unwanted interference is coming from as you may further improve what you have already experienced
  13. Yeah, the soundstage was further improved allowing me to better place where record producer wanted the band members. As for frequencies and textures, I didn’t detect anything
  14. I use the signature aray at home and had tried it against the c-line. At home, this cable easily delivered better placement, yet when I tried it on a LMS (lesser musical system), it was almost indistinguishable to the c-line cable, which was a little alarming considering the price differences (LMS: i5 Laptop, JRiver, Arcam a39, teac UD-501 and Kef R700, Chord cabling - Music: Standard CD (accurate rip - wav files) plus 96/24 & 192/24 files) So, if I was struggling to experience a difference on a LMS. I would say that in order to experience a better result, you’d need the right level of toys between it to appreciate what it can do. £2.5k - £3.5k might not be enough to experience what the cable has to offer as I didn’t experience a difference hope that helps
