  1. Thank you all for the responses so far! I always thought sensitivity is same as impedance. Anyway, I had to read responses a few times to understand what I understood so far. I will see if I can do some more reading to get my basics right!
  2. That is what I figured when I purchased the dac 5 or so years ago and never thought about it until recently! I believe you meant low impedance. Anyway, what would you recommend for desktop use under 100$ which neutral to slightly warm but not completely within the bassy category?
  3. Thanks for the response! I just realized, I missed DON'T before need volume control and more power and somehow I don't see the edit option anymore. Anyway, is there an article/thread that explains why it is not best way to power headphones directly from DAC? If I need to get one, I will probably get something under 100$ which is available on Aliexpress or here in India. Bravo tube amps maybe.
  4. Hi All, I have HRT MS 2 which has only USB input and RCA out. I have been using cable adapter with my SRH 440 and some iems and they get plenty loud. However, I had to contact HRT support for some issue and the CTO asked as to why I would connect my headphones directly to the DAC using adapter. That got me wondering if I really need to drop an amp in the chain even when I feel the need for volume control and more power? I always take care(at-least until now I did) to not set DAC volume to 100% when connecting my headphones. Please help me understand if I need one or not. Thanks!!
