  1. Totally agree. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  2. They should sound the same.... But they don't. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  3. I have been running Lubuntu with a low latency kernel for some time now. I have a dual boot to windows with a low latency driver installed and fidelizer. The Linux machine sound wise always comes on top especially for latency. YMMV. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  4. I know I am a pain in the butt but hear it goes.[emoji2] We all do the same mistake when starting out; we buy equipment and keep trying to upgrade to the holy Grail because that is what hi-fi marketing encourages. What do we really want? For myself; to be able to listen to music and live an emotional experience, to be transported too the realm of the artist's expressions and forget life for the next few hours which is typically 4 to 6 hours. I can do this most of the time with the right albums such as Low Roar Low Roar. This was only achieved when we took care of the outlets and then chose the equipment after. I recommend to all my clients and friends to start there as to be able to reach synergy and that wow factor everybody is looking for. I could recommend the best preamp I have ever heard that was compared to 3 ML preamps, including the 15000Usd$ (close to 20k CAD) reference model, a SimAudio unit (7000$) on Dunlavy SC-VI This unit was way above those units to all in the room. Cost of this preamp 4000 Cad. After this experience over a four month time period I can only conclude that a preamp is really key to the heartbeat of the audio chain. We could easily hear the differences in performance when plugging from a hospital grade plug to the GTX-d. The levels of performance are not as great between units with the hospital grade plug. The point is we could of chosen a lesser unit if the wall outlets where not tops..... Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  5. I have to agree here; the biggest bang for your dollars is the wall outlet like a Furutech GTX-D gold. Will improve overall sound of all your components beyond what you would think is possible. Definitely the route to take before switching components. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  6. LOL! That is funny how something written can be interpreted another way. I meant what you will do for your sound system; either you change amp our play on the A/C side.... I am still laughing as I write this! This had made my day! Thanks! Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  7. Let's is know what you do Jamesroy... Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  8. I used the green paint/armor all example because I wanted to point out that things do make a difference on the digital side that were either ridiculed or dismissed because it wasn't measurable. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  9. I'm not following this thread anymore.... Bye Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  10. Accepted[emoji106]. We are back to honor. I'm staying. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  11. It's too bad that this forum cannot stay on track and without bickering. I way prefer to try things for myself and if I do hear a difference or not, it does not mean that others in another system will or will not. It would be great to hear people that have tried these wall outlets and the aural results. I was staying here to see of I could learn something........ Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  12. When I first tried to apply green paint to the edges of a CD it made a difference in the sound. When I applied Armor all to the reading surface it changed the sound. I am not saying that the change was for the better. Try it and see for yourself; you can always reverse by cleaning. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  13. I cannot vouch for any other receptacles as I have only heard the following receptacles; standard contactor, Hubbel hospital plug and Furutech GTX-D (gold). The order is also the worst to best. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  14. Try different combinations such as: pre and amp straight in wall, all in wall/no surge etc. Have fun and you may be surprised. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  15. I used to feel the same way you do.... Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
