  1. For those interested: SACD ripping on the Oppo 105 still works with the latest Beta firmware (BDP10X-83-1226B).
  2. Not to derail this thread, but it might be a good idea to download that beta firmware as long as it's available. I updated my player with it (Oppo 105 EU) and got some real improvement for subtitles in mkv files. But I also noticed a tiny little gap during gapless playback of FLAC files from a USB drive. The earlier firmware doesn't have this problem. The beta firmware can be replaced by the older firmware, the official firmware can't. For the time being I will stick with the beta firmware and go back and forth, depending on what I need (decent subtitle support or gapless playback from USB drives). Not ideal, but better than losing one option for good.
  3. Yes, I have the 105 EU model and already ripped all of my SACDs. :-)
  4. BTW, I haven't yet thanked the people who found about the ripping option on the Oppo and provided the tools and instructions. Everything worked perfectly for me at the first try and I couldn't be any happier. So thank you guys a lot!! Now I'm only sad that I'm already done with ripping all my SACDs (I only have around 80).
  5. The current beta firmware doesn't affect the ripping capabilities of the Oppo in any way. I installed it before I made my first SACD rip and everything went flawlessly. And yes, it says on the Oppo page that you can roll back from the beta firmware (unlike from the official stable firmwares). I haven't tried it though. Concerning auto firmware updates: is that even an option for the Oppo? I'm pretty sure that you can set it to informing you if a new update is available, but you will always have to start the process yourself.
