  1. i was hoping to get a little guidance to make sure I'm correctly setting up my mRendu, SonicTransporter I5 and NAS (containing my music files). Just for a little initial background, I'm running Roon remote on my Macbook air and iphone, have a Synology DS216j NAS storing music files, plan to use the SonicTransporter as a music server, and will connect the mRendu --> DAC-->amp. After plugging in the SonicTransporter, I was expecting to connect my NAS via USB and it be good to go to serve up my music to Roon. This wasn't quite the case as I can't seem to locate my NAS in the SonicTransporter management web browser page. Could someone give me a step by step of this setup process (or point me to the correct thread on it if its already been done)? Is there something I need to do in Roon to point the SonicTransporter to my NAS? Is a USB connection between the two even necessary? I've looked around the SGC webpage for documentation on the SonicTransporter but wasn't able to locate any. Also, is there anyone else out there running a setup similar to mine, but also running HQ Player in addition to Roon? If so, what additional hardware would I need to start running HQP? Thanks in advance for your help!
  2. I'm interested switching from Sonos over to Roon --Roon is just so freaking sleek and effective at organizing my library and I'm turned off by Sonos only supporting sample rates up to 44.1kHz. Based on my research thus far, integrating either a microRendu or a Sonicorbiter SE into the setup is a great, cost effective way to do this. As somewhat of a newbie, I'm wondering if just one of these devices will be all that I need, or if I will also have to buy some sort of additional music server? I've done a lot of reading and there seem to be conflicting reports. My current setup is a Synology NAS attached to my router storing all of my music (I should clarify that the model I have isn't able to run Roon Server). I have a Macbook that I can use to access the music files via Roon software. I then have a Shiit DAC that is attached to my amp. If I were to add a microRendu or Sonicorbiter SE, would this sufficiently serve the music to my DAC and amp....or am I missing a piece in the puzzle. Any help would be much appreciated!
