  1. It's been a while since I've been here. Has oppo disabled anything with their latest firmwares or is the rip still working? I have a 103d
  2. Bought just over a month ago. Does not include a Tidal Subscription. A chance to own this great box for less without Tidal, especially if you either already have Tidal or don't want it. Comes with Original box and everything that was included therein. Asking 365$ shipping and paypal included.
  3. Just upgraded last night and ripped some new SACD's and it worked just as before.
  4. Thanks to everyone for the food for thought. Kind of Blue is special. I have the Mobile Fidelity SACD's of a bunch of stuff including KOB and I think they sound great and are treasures to own ( I guess I'm like Teresa here ). Not even Roon can replicate the feeling of the jacket and the liner notes etc. I did see that people love the 192khz version and it's one of the background thoughts that propelled this query. The Mofi version is much better than the original columbia SACD ( with multichannel ) which I also own to CatManDo's point about the mastering quality, not just the source being important. Firedog - do you have the Columbia or the Mofi SACD?
  5. So, if you were faced with a choice to purchase an SACD (DSD 64 ) or download a 96/24 which would you choose and why? This is assuming both recordings were sourced from the same master obviously, or all bets are likely off. Where does PCM start sounding better than an SACD? Would you choose 192 over SACD? I've listened to DXD ( 358 ) and it sounds great. But I still feel that SACD sounds better than 96KHZ. Just wondering. I know math can say one thing, but obviously there other factors such as the noise characteristics of DSD vs PCM and the fact that DSD is PWM vs PCM. I'm not intending this to be a DSD vs PCM thread, but more to glean information from people who have experimented and listened on how I should target my hidef purchases.
  6. I have that as a Redbook CD and didn't know it was out on SACD. Great recording.....
  7. Too bad I didn't get your reply before I ordered. The quality is worse than the original CD which I also own. These are a travesty.
  8. BTW, What are people's observations about MQA given the brooklyn has it. I listened to all the content on 2L and frankly, DSD sounded best to my ears in much of the content I listened to. Although MQA sounded good too, but I wasn't left feeling that it was remarkably better than things as touted. I think MQA's strength is being able to download at low bitrates and have high def built in and it may succeed on that account.
  9. That would be unfortunate timing, but I'm not the first one to complain about Mytek support ( there are instances earlier in the thread ).
  10. from what I understand it takes about 500 hours to break in, if you got a new one.
  11. i don't use a computer but an auralic Aries mini which works fine on its own dac. Thanks for your concern. I do think it is a good dac.
  12. It arrived with 2.08 installed. I had the issues and decided to check on whether a new firmware existed. Upgraded to 2.2, and the issues persisted.
