Just a quick headsup on the usability of a Ryzen 5700G on an ASrock X300 motherboard. Plays DSD256 and ASDM7EC without breaking into any form of sweat, without CUDA-GPU. This processor is so fast that the Roon process does not even register above 0% in Task Manager. Even with Roon DSP applied. I hadn't expected this to be so easy. Happy!
  2. Additionally: With the installed Win10 on the Acepc, Win-NAA works fine. But I would prefer the lighter Linux image.

Boot hangs at "A start job is running for wait for network to be configured" infinitely. If I plug in the same network cable into my Thinkpad and boot with the same USB stick, everything works. Which Linux live image could I download to test the Acepc with? The installed Win10 works well.

Have you tried to use the HQP client? It can change most settings.

Great - and thanks for explaining!

Thanks, Jussi - I understand this for the Rpi linux NAA apps and such - but I am using your closed images and they are not editable, are they? Sorry for being so dumb here.

@Miska Thanks, Jussi - how do I change the name within your images? Would it be possible that you change your images so that they read a text file one can place on the thumb drive next to the gz-file with the image, so that the NAA instance gets the name given in the text file. Alternatively, the image could add the last digits of the NAA's IP address to the "NAA" moniker, so the names would be unique.

@Miska Hi Jussi, in a scenario where I have HQP on a server machine and play out over a NAA to the living room AND want to use the HQP input option - how can I attach the input interface to the NAA? NAA is one of your images. I want to attach to the NAA in order to avoid long cables, possibly through a wall, to the HQP machine. If I try to set NAA in HQP as input as well, the "must be different" error is thrown. Achim

Yes, I can now definitely confirm this. I guess the initial trouble was caused by an outdated Oppo Asio driver. After updating this to the latest, I can run hyperthreaded, without pipeline, any filter, DSD128, with USB harddrive connected (no ssd!), still with loads of ressources to spare. But energy management must be set to max performance otherwise there will be throttling that gets you clicks and stutters. Cheers everyone, Achim

Thanks everyone - bibo was on the right track. None of the suggested measures changed anything - until I noticed that I had set a energy saving scheme in order to reduce fan noise - put the scheme back on "max performance" and 5.6Mhz DSD plays just fine! Thanks again! Achim

I will try this, but since I need/want to use the volume control, I will not be able to have it on permanently.

Pipeline let me run DSD64 without stutter in the first place, but I will re-check after switching off HT. The PC runs with no more than 50% CPU, and has 8GB of RAM which are hardly filled...

From earlier information I had gathered that the -2s variants use less CPU, anyway - I tried the ones without -2s and there was no improvement (but also no worsening I could detect). I will try to switch off HT later today and report back.
