  1. @burkjavier Try different sacd_extract daemon from Maldur's post And don't forget to reboot blu-ray player after any unsuccessful attempt
  2. FW of MCS-434 doesn't include libiconv.so.2. Try to download libiconv.so.2 (taken from OPPO fw), unpack to Autoscript folder on usb stick alongside with sacd_extract daemon that compiled for OPPO/CA (post #26). Next you have to add Autoscript folder to PATH. Start telnet, connect to player with putty, type in 'export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/mnt/sda1/AutoScript/"', press Enter and launch daemon with './sacd_extract -S &'.
  3. You should try to manually launch sacd_extract daemon that compiled for OPPO/CA (post #26) from putty with command './sacd_extract -S &’.
  4. It's more kernel/SDK version related, not just chip version related. MCS-434 has suitable kernel version (2.6.35) and Autoscript is working. It's good sign. @zaku2 Is MCS-434 actually supports SACD? I can't find much info about this system. Do you have firmware updates files?
  5. You don't need to ‘insmod /lib/modules/2.6.35/BDP/splitter.ko’, it is already loaded in your case. Just type in putty ‘./sacd_extract_160 -S &’. You should see something like this: If daemon is active you can load SACD disc into tray and start cmd from Windows.
  6. Did you check user manual? Page 25: My BDP-160 works exactly as it written in manual.
  7. IIRC, OPPO is unable to play DST .dff tracks. So you'll need to check "Convert DST to DSD" before pushing "Execute" button.
  8. You should using package from Maldur's post: link. This one is specific for bdp-160/170/80fd
  9. I can confirm that process is works on BDP-160. I can confirm that process is works on Linux (Ubuntu Server 14.04 64bit) See proof: link (ubuntu) + link (Pio)
  10. They share the same service manual at least (and same main board assy).
  11. It depends... If you need hardware only for ripping SACD then 170 is good choise for now. It's confirmed in this topic that sacd_extract daemon is working on BDP-170. But if you want more versatile device - maybe it's better to wait until someone will find a way to starts daemon on BDP-180. Thing is for BDP-180 is available alternative firmware from chinese guys (untested yet). They promised bd.iso/sacd-r/sacd.iso/nfs/multiregion/cue/no_cinavia. But it's unclear yet if this firmware works with no trouble.
  12. No need to. Firmware available for download and analisys already. But it's useless without hardware for testing. BDP-180 is based on MTK8563, not on MTK8560 as 160/170. ted_b, you can safely remove (for now) BDP-180 from list of compatible player's. I'll try to get one 180 for testing and see if this works out.
  13. It's not true. You just have to use another package with different script or you have to add 3 lines of code to existing script. But as i said earlier, telnet is useful only for debugging purposes. If you don't know what to do with it - forget about telnet.
