  1. I had a request to make it work for the D2 but I guess it never got any traction... still hoping it might as its still a current seller (D2) so one can hook up a TT and use the lumin D2 for a little more than it can be now.. as an entry level setup it would be a sweet feature.
  2. Count me in as always Peter...happy to Beta test for D1 and D2 models if applicable ;-)
  3. See now if the D2 / X1 could do the USB ADC plugin then you could have obliged ;-)
  4. I also use LEEDH on 3 Lumin's now and while none have a DAC attached (D1 & D2 models dont support external USB DACs) I never had any issues with the LEEDH volume over the last several months. I can fully appreciate Peters stance that when a user disables Lumin's volume control function that they should do so with adequate precautions in place like powering off amplifiers and having a replacement volume control in place and lowered to a safe level prior to making such changes. Regardless of what the app might or might not tell you. I'm sure plenty of us (even well versed users) myself included have at one time or another had a mishap where full noise is presented to ones speakers or amps inadvertently - live and learn.
  5. Lumin D1/D2 is ethernet connected only and it needs to use 100Mbps not GBE so your FMC also needs to work at 100Mbps (some won't). The USB is only for connecting a storage medium like USB Drive or SSD/HDD so no DAC option. I only the USB as a trigger out to turn my amps or preamps on and off - handy but needs some DIY effort to construct a cable with the data lines removed and a suitable trigger connector <-- DON'T TRY THIS UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR ARE DOING!!!! I personally have one connected to B side of EtherREGEN with A side on SFP and another D1 using SFP FMC ( www.FS.com ) with fed from my Unifi SW24/US24 switch. Both perform well, but to be totally honest I think you will still get great results with a direct LAN connection. I also use one D1 (the one on the ER) on an HDPLEX fixed 12V out along with the ER on 12V variable output and the 19V powering my W10 PC Roon Core, and the other D1 on a Plixir 12V/4A LMPS that I will also power the FMC with probably too or maybe another Jays Audio LMPS. D2 has internal SMPS so this needs to be removed if you want to use LMPS on it. Lumin do say try not to connect both RCA and XLR outputs at the same time, but I haven't seen or heard anything that would imply it has some significant effect. You can use the LEEDH option to give better volume control if driving active speakers or AMP's directly without a preamp or in line volume control. can always ask in the Lumin forum here too.
  6. The issue is not with roon, if I play from my Mac with Spotify client the setting in the lumin app to power down after 15 mins of no music is not happening, same from my wife’s computer where there is no roon client installed.
  7. Ive noticed something with the current V13 software that the system doesn't shut down the USB drives when it's had some stream from Spotify playing from a MAC desktop despite the stream being paused - I would have thought the 15min set in the app would still apply. Roon seems to work fine with its timeout settings to power off. Ill double check Tidal playback and pause in the App to see if that happens there or not. So should it power off with any stream from the setting the app?
  8. Given that Peter is in HongKong he is probably well asleep by now...as should I be as I’m in the same time zone, it’s 4AM!!! 😴
  9. I just made the change from my D1 bypassing the Cambridge Audio Azur 840E which is still connected to balanced outputs but my Active Crossovers (Linkwitzlab.com) LX521.4 ASP are only running RCA inputs so I have now connected the ASP directly to the RCA outs on the D1 and enjoying the change very much - despite Roon now showing DSP volume in the signal path. I might not be able to keep it this way as the preamp allows for connection of other sources most importantly my turntable and some options for other DAC for TV or CD transports etc. but if I use a separate speaker setup for the other needs then its a workable solution as I do as noted below. For my other system where I have another D1 using a Linkwitzlab Orion setup for stereo and an 5.1 HT speaker setup for TV/Movies this will be perfect....just need to reachable the ASP
  10. Im wondering if anyone has tried this - use 2 devices on the B side....I have 2 Lumin D1 streamers, one is directly connected to the B side with A side fed by SFP fibre from a Unifi 24port switch. A side also has my Roon ROCK server attached. ROCK, ER and Lumin all powered by isolated outputs of an HDPlex 200W LMPS. The other D1 is connected from the other 24port switch SFP port via 15M fibre to an FS.com FMC and to the D1 in another room. This is also running on a Plixir 12V@4A LMPS and works quite happily. I was wondering if running this via FMC's from the A side of the ER would improve anything or optionally using a dual port FMC off the B side to one D1 and then fibre down to the other FMC and to the other D1. the dual ported FMC could run off of the 4th HDPlex output so everything is on its own isolated LMPS supply. I have all the bits and pieces to do it but I wonder if I'm compromising the A side with an FMC or the B side with the FMC splitting to two different streamers - one directly and one down the fibre. I'm sure someone will just say listen and use your ears...which I will ultimately do, but maybe some technical thing that I haven't considered that @Superdad might bring up could save me some messing about or deter me from seeing if its going to work opr brak the moat.
  11. The EMMC is on the underside of the Sparky not into the adapter on my sparky units. the adapter is only used for programming the thing guys.
  12. @wkliePeter I now have 2 Lumin D1's both preloved 😃 and I would like to know if the feature development cycle is unlikely to have much happening re features like Amazon HD etc...please correct me if I am wrong. Support for bugs etc I hope will be ongoing for some time... is there a drop dead date for older models like the D1 with respect to features that might be supported or maintenance releases? Currently both on V12.0a and RAAT SDK 1.1.36 Very much enjoying the D1's too I must say.
  13. Alex, and anyone else that might like to chime in. I have an ER running optical from my Unifi SW24 SFP ports, Using FS.com modules. On the B side is a microRendu connected to a USB DAC (OPPO HA1 or Sonica) and this is fine for one setup. There is also an Allo USBridge that I have connected to the A side, and potentially a Roon ROCK core or Windows 10 Core or MacMini running Roon and god forbid a NAS too. I'm considering an Allo USBridge Signature for a downstairs system and was wondering if I would be better to connect this optically to A side and move the ER to a wired port. I have a FS.com FMC that I could use on the ER A side optical port with a 15M fibre run to the other area. Optionally I also have a wired connection to the other area (Cat6) that I could use too on the A side. lots of options...DAC on the USBridge will probably be Denafrips Ares II or Soekris DAM 1021 R2R's.
