  1. Check out the new wireless KEFLS50 speakers. Sent from my SM-T810 using Computer Audiophile mobile app
  2. The Bluesound dac may be consumer grade, but my Schiit Modi multibit dac is certainly not. Yet, overall, the Bluesound dac may sound better on MQA releases. Apparently, Schiit is not jumping on the MQA bandwagon for their own reasons. That is disappointing, and may change. I hope. Sent from my SM-T810 using Computer Audiophile mobile app
  3. So I switched out the Schiit dac in favor of the internal DAC in the Bluesound Node 2. There is a definite difference. Is it better? That is completely subjective. It seems to have more extreme punch, whereas maybe the Schiit sounds a bit smoother. The Bluesound dac, linked by RCA to Parasound zpre preamp running Audioengine hd 6 powered speakers, seems to have more deep bass. Thanks to the preamp, I can easily switch between the Schiit and the internal DAC. Options options. Sent from my SM-T810 using Computer Audiophile mobile app
  4. I just learned today that the node2 dac may sound better with MQA so I have not switched out the schiit yet. Should be interesting. Sent from my SM-T810 using Computer Audiophile mobile app
  5. When Tidal released its initial batch of MQA masters, listening via Bluenode through Schiit multi bit Modi DAC coax was a true revelation to my ears. I have listened to nothing else since. Going back to normal Tidal streaming of cd quality files, even modern current releases, is a serious step backwards in Sq, to me at least. Now, I read that the Node 2s internal DAC can do an even better job if connected by RCA. So I'm eager to give that a shot. The real problem is the MQA stuff is spoiling me for anything else, and the first batch on Tidal is a really weird mishmash of oddball selections, short on classical and jazz. Plus there seems to be no dedicated search on Tidal of its MQA stuff. Does anyone know what the plans are for more MQA content and when? Meanwhile, anyone contemplating a Node 2 for Tidal streaming should do so. I've found it all rock solid and only getting better and better. Sent from my SM-T810 using Computer Audiophile mobile app
  6. This is only desktop? Not available on tablet or mobile...why Tidal? Sent from my SM-T810 using Computer Audiophile mobile app
  7. What did the update do, exactly, if you know. I'm not noticing anything different. Sent from my SM-T810 using Computer Audiophile mobile app
  8. I just received one last week. Bluesound node 2 to Schitt Modi multibit.... What happens if you connect the ifi to the Node 2 first, then run cable to the dac? Same effect, or must the ifi be plugged into the dac only? Maybe a dumb question, but..... Sent from my SM-T810 using Computer Audiophile mobile app
  9. Are you using Tidal wired or wifi? I experience zero dropouts on wifi at home. In the car, there are lots, but I'm pretty sure that's a Bluetooth problem. Home dropouts are almost certainly hardware caused. Sent from my SM-T810 using Computer Audiophile mobile app
  10. Sincerely doubt it's a Tidal issue. No one else has it. Something in house, no doubt Sent from my SM-T810 using Computer Audiophile mobile app
  11. Power cord to the amp? Overall power supply. Power outlet? I don't think I'd point to a 2k preamp as a weak link, especially that one... Sent from my SM-T810 using Computer Audiophile mobile app
  12. I can speak for the Audioengine HD6s which I've had for about 6 months after upgrading from the a5. Wonderful sound for 750. Can't imagine why to spend over 1k when these are so nice. I also have a Schiit Modi multibit DAC, which again is beyond reproach. Thought about the Bifrost, but Schiit practically steers you to the Modi unless you just feel like tossing them more money. Not sure the payback is worth it. I also use a Parasound Zpre preamp that cleans things up that much more. I also use an SVS sb2000 sub, though it's almost unnecessary since the Audioengine bass is pretty superb. I just like the added oomph. I mostly stream Tidal through a Bluesound Node 2 that I love. Of course, good interconnects. Sent from my SM-T810 using Computer Audiophile mobile app
  13. Anything by Rush or Queen, most especially Bohemian Crapsody Sent from my SM-T810 using Computer Audiophile mobile app
  14. I haven't read anything in US media about Tidal going down, so probably wise not to fret too much about one article in one shaky Brit newsrag. Sent from my SM-T810 using Computer Audiophile mobile app
  15. When I owned cds, I listened to all of them. Even though I owned maybe 600-800. Now I see them all sitting there on Tidal including all those I always wanted but never got around to buying. These include am mostly listening to those former holes in my collection. It's a great time to be a listener. Sent from my SM-T810 using Computer Audiophile mobile app
