  1. My 2 cents on this: 1) A 180 phase shift on my DAC, some recordings (CD's) sounds better than normal. On the web, there is also a list of CD titles what goes in hand of my listening experiences. It seams also a common thing that some instruments or voices where inverted (just a guess) 2) Removing plastic on wires to get rid of the micro sonic discharge (a French engineer was very active on this) 3) as 2) removing the the plastic of electrolytic cap's helps very much in this direction. Did this on my tube mono power amp (Cary SLM 100) ... later re- Caped with newer brand & plastic... and finally, AGAIN, peeled the cap's (added some paper isolation while stacked power caps') to get back the pleased sound again. This was just unbelievable but Cheers Hp
  2. Well, most recordings, as I name this, have a nice tinnitus (square wave) on 15khz... may would be nice to see what MQA does with them, while I have no MQA gear.. Hp
  3. If you are looking for good source recorded by DxD and with various converted DSD/Wave/MQA formats http://www.2l.no/hires/ As: - Finzi: Come Away, Death Marianne Beate Kielland, mezzo soprano Sergej Osadchuk, piano - Bøhren/Åserud: Blågutten HOFF ensemble - Groven: Undring Sigmund Groven, harmonica Iver Kleive, organ.... Hp
  4. Hmm, I only know form a licensed DAC manufacture: The gear (DAC) has to be sent to MQA for specific MAQ algorithm adaptation/implementation. All is DAC Chip dependent too... What I currently do not know: What is the basic requirement HW/DSP/CPU for MQA adaptation. This means, if may once starts (gear maker) to disassemble will soon brake some license agreement. Hp
  5. Not only to have a permanent tinnitus at -70dB at 20..22kHz should ring some alarm bells. BTW: Tinnitus music is all around as a clear sine or square above 20khz in DVD-A & Hirez download content. Also how would/could MQA deal with phase inverted music content, while many of my collection sound best at phase inverted. Cheers Hp
  6. The point with MAQ is, it requires in addition an altered DAC gear what is DAC silicon dependent. This means, each DAC gear has to send to the holy company for adaptation. In other words, the final sound will be gear dependent too (in addition to the MAQ treatment as may psycho acoustic alog's as on MP3). Hp
  7. May read on about USB & earth issues ... https://secure.intona.eu/en/answer/1233 Hp
  8. Any plans to add DS512 or even DSD1024 And how did you calculated the filters. Currently do not understand "Clans" against "SDM" .. Hp
