  2. Thanks for the reply's! I've got something to think about now...
  3. I just built my Intel 13th gen PC based music server using the ASUS B760-I mobo, to replace my Intel 4th gen server. I'm currently using the mobo sound card and running USB from my server to on of the better DACs (IMHO) you'll find, the Aries Cerat Helene DAC. Even when using a high end DAC, is there a tangible benefit in using a USB audio card such as the JCAT USB XE? I understand the garbage in/garbage out principle, but wouldn't a high end DACs have more than enough umph to clean up the incoming digital signal? Also with a card such as the JCAT along with my AC Helene, would/could there still be room for improvement with a high end LPS, or could a "average" one do the job?
  4. Thank you for the suggestions! I decided to go with the iFi Zen to use with my network. Other than looking a bit ugly, it's does have the USB 3.0 ports, whereas some of the other products seem to not. If I can pick up a sMS-200 on the cheap, I might go ahead and give that a test drive also. I may go ahead and put my Singxer SU-2 between the iFi and Holo, to see if that can give additional improvement.
  5. Hi bogi. My DAC is currently a HOLO Spring 3 KTE. The solutions you offered are the exact kind of solutions I was looking for, and the cost appear to be well within what I was looking to spend. There are just so many products out there I was having trouble figuring out where to even start. You gave me a great direction to move toward, so thank you.
  6. Hello all, I’m trying to get my FLAC files physically close to my DAC while accessing them from my PC which is over 10 ft. away. I currently have the basic connection of PC > DAC via USB cable. I’m currently using and would like to continue using my Media Monkey app on my PC. Full disclosure – I’m pretty ignorant to the ins and outs of NAS’s, Music Server’s etc . My head just swims trying to figure out what might work Using Media Monkey and Windows 10 on my PC, I’d like to have it communicate with whatever device my FLAC files are installed on, which will be close to my DAC. From there have my FLAC files go to my DAC using a nice short USB cable or other digital inputs such as AES, XLR, COAX, SPDIF. I do not stream music. I do have a Singxer SU-2 and a wired network I can use for this pursuit. I’m okay buying what’s needed, but I hope it doesn’t have to be stupid expensive. And of course, I’d really like to have a high-quality signal going to my DAC Any guidance would be greatly appreciated – Thanks!
  7. Ordered this last month from Shenzhenaudio. Before I received it I decided to go a different direction. Su-2 hasn't even been unpacked. New Price is $429, will sell for $375 shipped to CONUS.
  8. Thanks for all the suggestions. I actually found the issue. My USB cable must have just been just a tad too long for everything to sync up properly. I went ahead and got an active USB cable and a 5v wall wart and it works like a champ now. I tell ya what, having the micro USB3.0 in the chain made a substantially difference in the noise level. I did contact ifi, they said they can replace the board on the micro USB3.0 for $212 plus shipping
  9. As the title says, my ifi Micro iUSB3.0 died and it seems that product has been discontinued. I had it feed my stock Singxer SU-1 Which fed my Wyred 4 Sound DAC 2v2SE. I was happy with the sound but with the IUSB3.0 dying it seems like a good opportunity to improve my system. Not sure if I should wait until someone sells their iUSB3.0 and add a LPS, or go a different route. Only thing I can see that ifi has is the Nano iGalvanic Isolation, which seems to be a bit of a step backwards. People seem to love the Uptone ISO REGEN and the UltraCap LPS-1.2 combo, but I was hoping to spend less than what those cost. I'm open to new or used hardware. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, knowing that I may have to go higher price-wise than I want to attain noticeable improvement. Thanks in advance.
  10. Thanks audiobill! I called the number and i get an "automated attendant" asking for an extension. No reference to HRT at all. Hit "**" for the directory and your told to leave a message.... Does not look promising at this time...
  11. Does anyone know if HRT , (High Resolution Technologies) is still in business? I ask because their phone number (323) 967-7447 is no longer in service. I've also filled out their online form and have received no response. Any info would be be appreciated!
  12. Just want to give a big thank you for all of you who are trying to help solve this issue!
  13. Hi Frantic, Let me give you a big THANK YOU for all you've done on this! You've gone above and beyond the call of duty on this and I'm sure your efforts are appreciated by many.
