  1. Thanks to all of you for your suggestions. I'll give them a try.
  2. The track # are there but they are out of sequence e.g. 11, 15, 21, 23. I have clicked on the edit metadata button but it doesn't give me the option to edit the track numbers. How does one edit the metadata for those tracks/albums to work properly within the standard"?
  3. I apologize if this question has already been raised and answered: I just started using Audirvana Studio both for Qobuz and local storage but have found that the order of tracks on some albums in local storage are out of sequence. This is a problem for albums of classical music. How do I go about getting the tracks into proper numeric order? Roon does this almost flawlessly.
  4. Thanks Stefano, that finally dawned on me too. After restart, icon turned green and and the library showed up in the JPlay app so I think I am in business. It is really very kind of you to take the time to help out a fellow Newbie
  5. Ok, I found music note icon with a yellow background but now it has is greyed out
  6. I've tried uninstalling Minim Watch but here too I get a message saying it is running and I can't uninstall it until it is closed but I can't seem to be able to close it
  7. First, thank you Stefano for your attempts to help. I did download Minim Watch on my PC and the appropriate Java software but when I try to open Minim Watch on the desktop I get a message saying that Minim Watch is running but see no icon. I confess I am confused. The MinimServer is on the i5 but the Minim Watch is on my PC
  8. among the many things I don't understand is why is Roon able to find and access this library and JPlay and apparently MinimServer can't
  9. Yes, I have hit rescan several times but this has made no difference. As for installing MConnect Player Lite, I opened it on my ipad but it does not pick up the storage library on the i5
  10. Thanks Stefano. Originally it was blank. I did type in \storage\music as Andrew suggested. That seemed acceptable to MinimServer but it still doesn't show up on the JPlay app.
  11. JPlay for iOS can't find my music library on my Sonic Transporter i5 I recently began experimenting with the JPlay for iOS app and was delighted to find that Qobuz streamed to my Bricasti M3 (with ethernet card) sounded better than Roon. As a result, I wanted to try using the JPlay app to access my music library housed on an internal solid state drive in my Sonic Transporter i5 (Gen3). Unfortunately, the JPlay app can't find the library even though Roon clearly does so without any problems. My computer skills are at a kindergarten level, so I don't know how to make my library visible and accessible to the JPlay app. Since the i5 has MinimServer and Bubble UPnp on it I thought that maybe if I could get MinimServer to add my library, then maybe the JPlay app could access it. But when I go to the app page of my i5 and open up MinimServer and the MinimServer admin page it asks where my music is stored, but when I enter \\SONICTRANSPORT\storage\music (the address used by Roon) I get a message saying that "the content directory path is not absolute". But what is an 'absolute directory path' and how do I find it? Once this is entered correctly might the JCat for iOs be able to find my music library? Any suggestions on how I can make the library on the i5 visible to the JPlay app? Please keep my novice computer skills in mind.
  12. View Classified Auralic Vega G1 streaming Dac works flawlessly I purchased this streaming dac, new, in April 2019 as an upgrade from the Ayre Codex and Sonore MicroRendu that I used previously. It has worked flawlessly since then (I have only used the ethernet input, not USB) and provides a clean, transparent, and engaging sound. Selling in order to upgrade even further. With the exception of some light scuffing on the top of the case and a small bit of scratched off black anodizing on the upper right edge, the case is perfect. Includes original, and very substantial packaging, manual, usb cable, and power cord Seller hlkaye Date 07/03/22 Price 2,100.00 USD Category Digital to Analog Converters
  13. I am looking to upgrade my Auralic Vega G1 streaming dac and am considering the following: Auralic Vega G2.1 Bricasti M3 (with network card) Exasound S82 Meitner MA3 Weiss Dac501 I would be using the ethernet input, not USB, and will be keeping my Zesto Leto 1.5 linestage so the new dac/streamer would not be serving as a preamp or volume control. MQA and headphone amp are not important to me, but dsd performance is. I can live without DSD256 or 512. Has anyone had the opportunity to audition and compare any of the above? I would like to narrow the list down to 2 or 3 before bringing them into my system for home audition. In addition to the Zesto linestage, the rest of my system consists of a Sonictransporter i5 server, Aesthetix Atlas Eclipse amp, and MG 3.7i speakers
  14. Thanks to everyone for your comments and suggestions. So far, I've compared several albums of piano trios and a Gil Shaham performance of the Brahms violin concerto, with which I am very familiar, and each time, playing the album from local storage seemed superior--greater clarity, transparency, vividness, etc, but of course, I knew which I was listening to, Qobuz or local storage. Tomorrow I will borrow my wife 's golden ears and see if she notices consistent differences. I will also download an album from Qobuz and compare with the streamed version. I will also consider taking the plunge with HQ Player.
  15. I apologize if this has been asked and answered before but I searched for an answer and couldn't find one. I use a Sonic Transporter i5 to stream from an internal solid state drive and using Roon. When I play an album from a ripped CD it sounds significantly better than the same album streamed from Qobuz. In both cases, the ethernet signal feeds my Auralic Vega G1 streaming Dac. In both cases, the ethernet signal passes through a Sonore Optical Module deluxe and EtherRegen. Yet the Qobuz version sounds flat and distant, less transparent and vivid, and without the sense of spaciousness. Any explanations? Any solutions?
