i am currently trying a SOTM SMS200 neo and an Innuos Zen Mini Mk3 that a friends kindly loaned me

The user interface is very important, and that’s one of the things I’m actually struggling with the music it’s actually store directly on the Mac send, I’m not sure about running other things in the background. It may well be a case I need to revisit that option and put it on her Dnla software onto it. I certainly don’t want to spend thousands I just want to see if there’s any way I can take things too slightly higher level in terms of sound quality.

Hi everybody, I just really want to ask a question have what I think it’s quite a nice system and I now think that the area I need to improve is my streaming. I currently stream Apple Music and ALAC files from a Mac mini with an SSD and a upgraded power supply and Wi-Fi et cetera all turned off. I run it USB into a singxer USB to coaxial converter su1 and then into an RME adi2 fs dac it sounds great, but I just feel I can get better from my streaming I tried a wiim mini that sounded fine. However it wouldn’t easily see the files are stored on my Mac without spending thousands is there anything else I should look at? I have used volumio a raspberry pie with an allo digital output board. However, again it wasn’t brilliant I’ve looked at running things like a blue sound node etc So any ideas of a sensibly priced streamer transport would be great Thank you

I thought I would add my system in to this I have enjoyed music and Hifi since I was 13, when I left collage I worked in hifi sales for 10 years full time selling everything for Panasonic hifi to Naim meridian martin Logan etc. and loved it but left to move to pastures new 21 years ago. But my passion for listening to music and enjoying hifi has never stopped. Having owned full naim systems to meridian active speakers , sonus faber linn lp12 and loads more beside. I am now at what I feel is the end game hifi wise. There will be further changes but it will be thing like source or maybe adding a analog preamplifier I am running a Apple Mac mini i5 2.6 with 16gb and. 1 tb ssd I use Apple Music for playback and I have Dirac live running across all audio USB to topping 10s usb to spdif converter into a meridian 562v that is used to switch all the digital and analog sources. Digital out to an Rme adi2 fs dac preamp into a xlr switch to switch between hifi and AV Xlr Pre out to a Lyngdorf 2200 power amplifiers. Then qed qx16.4 speaker cable, one set of 4 to the positive and negative. This works out at around 9 awg as it has to run 12m to the speakers in the next room The speakers are PMC fact 8 I also have a dab radio and a project turntable on the hifi Av wise I run a Yamaha rxa850 av receiver, sky q, Apple TV and a Panasonic uhd blue ray and a LG lcd. And recently added a Optoma 1080p projector and screen

Well in the end I have bought a RME ADI2 fs looking forward to trying it

Thanks for the recommendation my only concern about the chord mojo is the fact it has a better and I have read a few reports that if the battery goes down you cannot used the dac

Just tried the optical out and to say it was rubbish is kind haha may just buy a better usb to spdif

Hi I am looking for advice for a dac upgrade I have a rega dac and I am running jriver though a pc with Dirac live but it’s the original rega dac with a poor usb input so I use a usb to spdif adaptor and I want to simplify things and just run usb to the dac Looking at up too £500 for a dac with good input or a good spdif at £200 as it’s a cheep one I am using at the moment what would you recommend

I just use the drop down under multimedia and my nas is there. Not sure how that would work with a Mac

Not sure about iTunes play lists but you can create your own

I have to ask what is the benefit of adding all these processes in when I have a nas with dnla (wd mybook thing) an app that points the chrome cast audio were to go and works with out having a pc running etc etc ?

I used a chrome cast audio and my nas. With my iPhone 6 the best app I found was creation5 you can get free or pay for ad free works well indeed also allows you to directly download music to your phone

a quick and easy question. does Moode support ALAC files. i am about to re-rip some of my cds and will use itunes as i like to sync my iphone as well. it Moode plays ALAC that would make life easy also great bit of software and support

It's working via coax to my dac sadly I cannot tell what my dac is receiving as there is not indicators but it sounds great so thank you
