I only listened MSB for a few songs. The high and upper mid are bright to me. I agree it is unnatural but I think it is musical. Just different people have different taste. I listened MSB select 2 + power base + electrostatic headphone amp + 009. A 100k + Euro set. The sound of MSB has a "royal bright signature" in timber. This is definitely not natural (especially when I play a talking book and I can clearly see the tone) but that is really amazing and beautiful. I like it. I own Dave. I have not heard M1 by myself. In my country's community, most experienced audiophiles agree Dave sounds better than M1.
