  1. Thanks for your quick replies gentlemen. When I said the Analog 2 upgrade would solve the problem I misspoke - I meant upgrading my Yggy to the Gen 5 USB input would allow me to pull the Eitr out of the chain, problem solved. Someone is coincidently sending me a custom Fo-Felix power distributor he's building that has great filtration and apparently does a great job of isolating components from each other, this may offer the side benefit of isolating my Eitr from my fireplace. Thank you again for your suggestions! Matt
  2. I have a very annoying problem using an Eitr between my Sonore Microrendu and my Yggy. I have a gas fireplace as the primary source of heat for my living room, where my audio system is located. The fireplace is on a thermostat and every time it kicks on (every few minutes) the Yggy clicks several times and, during said clicking, produces no music. I'm sure it's not good wear and tear for the Yggy either. The fireplace was off all summer but is back in play now that the weather is turning cold. It seems having the Eitr /Yggy on the same circuit as the fireplace is causing the interference. I just select a different input on the Yggy when not listening to music from my Microrendu to stop the clicking. I know getting the Analog 2 upgrade will solve the problem, but any ideas about replacing the Eitr with a different USB converter or something not too expensive an electrician can do? any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
  3. I had trouble again connecting to Spotify, but followed Jesus' advice and did an update under Apps - Software Manager. That brought a connection to Spotify but suddenly JRiver, which had been working fine disappeared. I tried unplugging, rebooting, but JRiver was not seeing my Microrendu. On a whim, I did another update under software manager and voila! JRiver immediately saw and connected to the Microrendu. Lesson: when connection problems appear - and they will - click Update under Apps - Software Manager. It least that appears to work for me.
  4. Very interesting, the same happened to me. The Spotify app worked for a very short time after I first connected my Microrendu but after a month or so it quit connecting, I inquired about it but my posts asking for helped seemed to... disappear. That was late in 2016 and it wasn't until I did the most recent update last week to 2.6 that the connection reappeared, apparently they fixed a known Spotify-connection problem with this update. I did pay for Spotify premium for all of those months without being able to play it through my Microrendu, but now that it works I'm happy.
  5. I too have been unable to get Spotify to connect to the Microrendu for the last six months. It worked for a few days when I first received he Microrendu, but ever since I can see the Microrendu in Spotify premium but it will not connect. Powering down, rebooting, etc makes no difference - I have written about this numerous times and have given up. As far as I am concerned the app does not work.
  6. I wonder if anyone can help me figure out why I can't access Spotify through the Microrendu. I have a Spotify Premium account and was able to connect and play Spotify through the Microrendu the first couple of times I tried. That was months ago. Now, when I select Spotify Connect in the Sonicorbiter Audio App Switcher, Spotify Connect will initially show "Active" in green and in Spotify on my iPad I can see the Microrendu listed under Devices Available. When I select Microrendu it will show "connecting" but it never does. This has been going for months, I've restarted, re powered up, switched back and forth, etc. but nothing I've done has allowed me to connect. By the way, in the Sonicorbiter Audio App Switcher the "Spotify Connect" button that showed active in green will show "unknown" in grey after I try to connect to Microrendu. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
  7. When I worked for a while on an Oracle help desk we used to called these technical mishaps "microwaves off the moon" - in other words, things happen - no explanation available - just be happy it's back up & running!
  8. I too am no longer able to use the Spotify Connect app. Even when I select Spotify Connect in My SonicOrbiter, the Microrendu is either not listed as one of my devices in Spotify or Microrendu is listed but when I click on it, it will not highlight as all of the other devices will.
  9. Hey, thank you Ultrarunner! took me all of 35 secs to be listening on my big rig once I found the list of devices, I appreciate you pointing me to it. For being less than perfect resolution Spotify sounds amazing through the Microrendu. Thanks again! Matt
  10. To anyone who is using the Spotify Connect app to play music through the Microrendu.... I've just installed Spotify premium and have switched from MPD/DLNA to Spotify Connect in My Sonicorbiter, but can't figure out how to get Spotify to recognize and play through the Microrendu. Is there a menu option in Spotify that lets you select the player? I haven't been able to find one. I also have Spotify Connect on my iPad and would like to use that as my remote control just as I use the iPad JRiver app to play music through the Microrendu in the MPD/DLNA mode. Many thanks for any help.
  11. I'm a complete neophyte when it comes to computer audio yet was able to install 2.5 and have it up and running in 5 minutes, I'm very happy with the results, thank you Jesus! There's a guy on Audiocircle who claims that installing the 2.5 update produced a "phenomenal" improvement in sound quality over 2.3: http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=gbrctigaakra8k1jo23v7o3vu1&topic=150271.msg1607910#new I'm not sure I hear an improvement but I'll keep listening! Thanks Matt
  12. I believe it's been stated a couple of times in this thread: $20.00 includes worldwide shipping, even to the UK and Australia. Mars? Now that might cost extra....
  13. Has anyone else experienced this issue with the Microrendu? I have been using mine with the UltraCap LPS-1 power supply and have recently noticed that the volume on my amp has to be turned up about 50% higher to get the same volume from music played through the Microrendu as I've enjoyed for months. Other sources produce sound at the same volume as before through the amp, so it's not an issue with the amp. I've gone to sonicorbiter.com and set DAC to MAX volume, refreshed, rebooted, unplugged and reconnected the power supply but no change. Music sounds as great as ever, it just needs to be turned up much louder to get the same results as before. I'm using JRiver and the setting for volume is 100%, so that doesn't appear to be the culprit. Any ideas? Thank you
  14. The Microrendu + Sonore DC-4 power cable + LPS-1 deliver what we've all been looking for: Uncompromised, world-class audio at a price most any audio enthusiast can afford. Thank you Sonore and Uptone!
  15. I received my Microrendu a couple of weeks ago and, like most everyone else I have been using it with the iFi iPower power supply and loving it. Yesterday the Uptone Audio UltraCap LPS-1 arrived (thanks Uptone for the early delivery!) and I plugged it in using a brand new DC-4 power cable from Sonore. I was prepared to be stunned - but - it really didn't sound much different to me than what I was hearing using the iFi iPower supply. Fast forward one day, and the UltraCap LPS-1 has come to life - the sound of my system has become frighteningly good, I'm not going to repeat how others have described the improvements, suffice it to say I am floored by what I am hearing. I'm trying to get my mind around why a power supply would need to break in... it's just power after all. But the sound quality difference from yesterday when I first plugged in the UltraCap to 24 hours later is night and day. Interesting, all of the other reviews I've read claim the UltraCap power supply transforms systems cold out of the box. That was not my experience. Could the system continue to improve from here due to the power supply? I suppose that's possible but I really don't need anything more than what I'm hearing now. I'm sure that the Sonore power cable is also responsible for some of the positive changes.
