I have been using the Intona for about 4 months. Recently, I unplugged it and place it in-between my PC and external dvd drive for ripping cd as well as usb drive for data transfer. I find that it is the most good sounding ripping method. Also, SQ is much better with the Intona for data transfer. At time of ripping or data transfer, my PC was connected directly to dac, SQ deteriorated very much. Just for sharing. Sent from my SM-N9200 using Computer Audiophile mobile app

To see whether it is the problem of OSX 10.11.5, try to connect it to your DAC directly. Sent from my SM-N9200 using Computer Audiophile mobile app -

Maybe Windows10 or the software come ASUS, shut down some devices,e.g. some thread of CPU for energy saving. Check your computer for power setting. -
As the ifi gemini splits the data and the 5 v power line, I think the computer may shut down one of the cable and/or CPU(s) for energy saving. I set my computer to a clean bootup(switch off all non-windows background apps when boot up). And set pwr management of USB always on. In the power management, check all items. If there is option of power, set them always on. Set your computer never sleep. Switch off screen saver.
