Hi, Looking for some advice. I just upgraded to a Mac Mini 2018 from a Mac Min 2010 and am fiddling with HQPlayer settings without really knowing what I’m doing. I’m using HQPlayer Desktop 3.20.1 with Roon Core 1.5 all running from the mini. DSP in Roon is disabled. Mac Mini 2018 specs 3.2GHz 6‑core 8th‑generation Intel Core i7 (Turbo Boost up to 4.6GHz) 16GB 2666MHz DDR4 Intel UHD Graphics 630 512GB SSD onboard Music is stored on a Synology DS218+ NAS. This is running through a microrendu in NAA mode to a Benchmark DAC2 HGC. Below is a capture of my current settings. First question. Based upon my configuration and DAC, can anyone recommend any obvious adjustments to the HQPlayer preferences to get the most out of the Benchmark? Second question. If I wanted to try upsampling PCM files to DSD, what would be some good settings to start with? Thanks!

Thanks Superdad. That's what I thought. Was actually distracted (or confused) by something else. At some point will be interested in hearing this in my chain. Will start saving my $. Glad to read of your success and glad you made it through the speed bumps. Loving the innovation that's occurring with teams like yours, Sonore, Small Green Computer, Roon and HQPlayer. Keep up the great work!

Prior to adding a microRendu to my chain it was MacMini to Dac. I had no renderer. I heard music coming out of my speakers. So in my instance the microRendu was indeed optional. I asked "Has anyone with a microRendu > ISO REGEN/LPS-1 in the chain..." "In the chain" is the operative phrase here. Does that clarify my question for you?

Noticing that most of the reviews that note revelatory improvements don't have a microrendu in the chain. Curious about those that do as a few mentioned upstream. Also, for those of you that have an LPS-1 in place, consider the addition of a Sonore DC-4 cable (if that works) with the ISO REGEN. Does it?

What settings are you using in HQP? There are quite a few variables. Also, are you listening to redbook resolution or something else?

+1 And it pained me to move away from PureMusic as I really enjoyed it but the Roon/HQPlayer/mRendu combination is a much better experience sonically and aesthetically. Also much more stable, less buggy and seamless with a combination of ALAC, DSD and hi-res PCM. HQPlayer is a lot more simple to set up that PureMusic IMO and Jussi makes himself constantly available to troubleshoot on the CA HQPlayer forum. -
Congrats to you and your team Jesus!
