1. Hello, I plan to buy the PS Audio PWD MkII + its Bridge since my MBP and my Hifi equipments are distant. My Mac runs Amarra. I was wandering whether you can air audio flow from the computer to the PWD/Bridge via Amarra. Any experience in this area ? Thx in advance, Pierre
 2. There is a limitation in using Apple's Home Sharing option: you can't stream music from any other player than iTunes. As I am a heavy user of Audirvana and Amarra players, A's Home sharing is not interesting for me despite I am seeking for a simple / unexpansive streaming solution. There might be a solution with AirFoil softwares from Rogue Amoeba. Reminders : "AirFoil" on Mac or PC gives you the possibility to stream audio whatever the source / player is. "AirFoil Touch Speakers" on iPod Touch / iPad is necessary to receive the audio stream. The key question is : as an iPad is receiving audio from a Mac thanks to AirFoil softwares, does a Photo Connection Kit circulate the audio stream to a DAC ? Has anyone experienced that ? or information it would work ? Thanks
 3. One's can add the Accuphase DAC 30 It is a DAC cartridge to be inserted in Accuphase integrated amplifier via specific slot. As Accuphase is a world wide retailed manufacturer, I thought that the information may be useful to the numerous Accuphase owners despite the DAC 30 is not a stand alone equipment.
 4. An additional reference for Hi Rez tracks. The website is french. Language : french. Numerous references on Jazz, classic, pop. Increasing catalog. The company seems to involve seriously on Hi Rez. http://www.qobuz.com/qualite/Studio-Masters/telechargement-ecoute-albums
 5. A few months ago, I had the chance to try a Devialet D-Premier with my speakers. One of Devialet's engineer was there (amazing and fascinating guy indeed). I confirm that the D-Premier has a proprietary PWM design and components, same as for DAC components (unless my memory betrays me on this last). My system combines the following : MacMini + Amarra + Weiss Minerva + Accuphase E550 (pure Class A). Devialet's guy connected its amp to my Mac with Weiss FW interface. I was afraid that the Devialet may perform a cold sound due to its PWM amplification and its full "digital" orientation. On the contrary, the sound experience was spectacular and rather organic: a typical class A feeling (clear and true timber). Moreover, the bass were better driven and more tight than with Accuphase Amp. The separation of voices was far more accurate too. Devialet's Class A / PWM amp design was not a fake promise. A great synthesis from the two worlds. As far as the integrated DAC. I can't say how Devialet's design and component may influence the sound experience. But as a whole, Devialet's concept seduced me a lot. No need to wait 30 minutes to get the system right. Low energy consumption. No heat (you can warm a room with a class A amp in winter). On top of it all, a very involving sound experience. As a conclusion, I would say that the Devialet / Weiss int202 was far superior to my system. Devialet D-Premier now integrates a streaming solution. The Devialet's engineer told me that they worked very hard on it to ensure stable 192 Khz / 24 bits streaming. I didn't experienced it by now but I am very curious to since the less components / cables you have between your source and your amp, the lesser is the risk of jitter. It seems that the company has developed an audio / video digital source (Devialet LaSuite). Can't wait to know how Devialet's people intend to provide progress in this area.
 6. ... another VNC app. If so, it makes you control your distant computer via the iPad iOs i.e. with no other option than touching screen of the iPad (use of fingers only). Its not the greatest solution : big fingers are not compatible with smaller informations of your desktop, lower definition, poor reactivity.

As far as Air Display, the iPad screen is simply mirroring what you will see on your regular monitor. You still control your Mac with the usual keyboard, mouse, track pad connected to it. I experienced it : with Apple's bluetooth keyboard and trackpad, its really cool.
 7. My audio system (MacMini + Amarra Software, DAC, Amplifier) is located nearby my TV set. To monitor the MacMini, it is connected to the TV set.

You can configure the MacMini so that when it is turned on, iTunes and Amarra are launched automatically (the start of Amarra can be linked to those of iTunes). As a result, no need to turn the TV set on. Then, I remote iTunes with Apple Remote app on iPad. Music goes on.

Problem : to turn the MacMini off and quite applications, I need to turn on the TV set i.e. move my a** from the couch, turn on the TV set, select HDMI output etc.

Following Chris' advice, I downloaded Air Display. It is a nice app to centralized the control of iTunes and MM from your iPad (or iPhone) and to avoid painful and useless physical exercises.

The + : Impressive reactivity (the best I have experienced from all the VLC-alike apps).

The - : Need some time to be configured. As always, not easy to control your Computer desk with finger (solution : mouse or track Pad)

8. CA members are focusing on Amarra and PureMusic but barely mention/support this italian playback software called AVS 3D. Any reason ?
 9. If I put some confusion on your mind. AVS 3D is a software to treat the audio signals. Not functioning as Amarra or Pure Music do but the experience is great (superior in my opinion). I just suggest a software solution to combine audio treatment and Front Row. If Pure Music is your choice, forget about my suggestion. It is not resolving your problem.
 10. Hello. FYI - AVS 3D still is operative even if you activate Front Row because iTunes audio flows is bridged to AVS thanks to soundflower. If you then are willing to upgrade the sound experience and use Front Row at the same time, AVS can able this.
 11. Hello everyone, A quick message to inform you that an App is now available to control iTunes on iPad. It is called yTrack. It is fairly cheap (1.59 euros). Controls still are very basic but updates are planned (search feature, playlists etc. See website of editor). Best regards

 13. Thank you very much Eloise, for this accurate response. If I am correct, the latest MBP pro with the latest update of SL is able to output 24 /192 sample rate via USB 2.0. If a DAC manages rates up to 24 / 192 but has no USB 2.0 itself, ones need an interface with USB 2.0 input and Spdif or XLR output. Well known Weiss INT202 is only FW input. Do you know any interface USB 2.0 / spdif-xlr ? Best regards
