Introducing the Sonore opticalRendu v2.0
MrDerrick replied to vortecjr's topic in Sonore (Sponsored)
Definitely caught my attention, how far out is the board swap for the Sig Rendu SE Opt? -
Solar City ran through my neighborhood, I have 3 neighbors with solar that I share utility secondary with. My input THD as indicated on my PS Audio power conditioner is now higher, the output THD is now much higher. At night THD is at its lowest, winter time is another step better. Not being in the sun belt probably doesn't help either, I can't imagine that any of these installs runs close to max output. If I could, I would request that I have my own dedicated primary transformer so I'm the only one on the secondary.

Johndubya, I think you have 30 days to return your old hardware, I don't think you will be punished if you take a bit longer. There is a new utility to load on your PC and new firmware available for the new USB module. I had to purchase the new module, my reason for the update was 1.4/1.5 PCM compatibility with my Sonore Sig Rendu SE. I felt that there was a long burn in, maybe 250 hours or so, to get to where I felt there was a sonic improvement. You can always switch back and forth with USB modules, but I don't know how long it will take for everything to settle in. For 1.4/1.5 PCM it was a step forward for me.

Sometimes HQPe just stops working for me. What gets it working again is to totally uninstall and then re-install it. Just make a note of all of your settings and remember to reload your license key. I am assuming that your NAA can see your DAC and that your NAA is active. Does your DAC and endpoint show up in HQP?

Hqplayer: best NAA with best sound quality
MrDerrick replied to latenz's topic in Networking, Networked Audio, and Streaming
Did you try restarting your NAA? Sometimes when I change settings in HQPlayer it sounds like something has lost its "lock". Restarting NAA cures the problem. -
I try to use as little Ethernet as possible and keep it as far away as possible from my equipment. I concur that replacing long Ethernet with fiber sounds better. I replaced a 25 meter Ethernet cable with a 25 meter fiber directly to my STi9 along with another separate fiber to my Sig Rendu SE. It was a major step up in SQ.

Did you try restarting your NAA ? Sometimes I have to restart NAA after changing settings in HQPlayer with 1.4/1.5 MHz PCM. Music playback will sound like something in the signal chain lost its "lock".

Intel based USB is no longer required with the new 2.1 enhanced USB hardware in the KTE May ( not certain regarding L2 & L1 ) I was a die hard I2S user until I experienced the KTE May USB input, no I2S for me anymore, you may want to consider USB now. My chain is in my signature.
