Chord Hugo 2 Announced
Kiendo replied to The Computer Audiophile's topic in DAC - Digital to Analog Conversion
Thanks Chris for the news. However, according to Hugo 2 - Chord Electronics and the image in your post, coaxial input is " Coaxial via 3.5mm Jack", not a typical Rca. Is it difficult for digital streaming via coaxial to the Hugo2? -
Hi, IMO, a good(audiophile) ethernet cable will improve the sound when it is hooked to end point of the network e.g network player/Dac. Sorry for my limited knowledge about networking but it is the result after our test of different ethernet cables: normal one, Audioquest Forest, Melco C1ae, Nordost Blue heaven/Hiemdal 2. We used Melco N1A, PChiend, NUC as a direct streamer (no NAS, no router) to PS PW + bridge 1. Appropriate if someone can explain because it is out of our knowledge? thank you.

Oppo Sonica DAC coming Fall 2016
Kiendo replied to cordobaman's topic in DAC - Digital to Analog Conversion
Many thanks for the pics. I wish I could see inside, really curious about the analog section and PSU. Hope it comes with toroidal transformers -
No, I meant playing CD in K05X sounds always better than feeding its USB DAC by computer source. I have tried K05, Wadia 361i, Audio Aero, all the same result.

Sorry to jump in but logical or not for your question? Esoteric is not crazy to release a product that kill their another product in the same range. K05x is a spinning machine, the USB DAC in K05x is just an extra function that many CDP manufacturers currently add in. Of course, the DAC section can not reproduce a better sound than CD section. Obviously, N05 aims to computer audio and playing hirez files from computer/NAS should be an advantage over the K05x. Cheers, KienDo

I tried it not as a conveter but a transport, external HDD --->Oppo 105d--->coaxial of Chord Qute HD, it sounded very good comparing with Mnet & PC as transport.

I have a DELA N1A ( a Japanese version of MELCO N1A) hook to Marantz N8005 via both ethernet and USB port. The ethernet connection easily surpassed USB, especially with "direct mode". I also tried ethernet to Oppo 105d and had the same result comparing with USB. So far the only connection I use is Ethernet. cheers, Kien Do

Try Wavetouchaudio Grand Teton Gen 2 and you never disappoint. I've been using a pair for one and a half year, will upgrade to SE soon. The speakers are amplifier friendly and support from manufacturer is quite okay.
