  1. Music First Audiophiles are hearing music while reading reviews. No videos please.
  2. Innuos Zenith SE vs. Zenith Statement, connected to a pair of extended Kii Threes. Improvement of SQ with the statement is huge!
  3. I will today. I'm interested in their powered (activated, wireless) speakers ... compared to KEF, Nubert, Progressive Audio, Dynaudio, Dali, Kii Three, ...
  4. If you have been using the five star track rating in JRiver for decades you will not and cannot replace JRiver completely with Roon. I am rating songs while playing back and use these ratings intensively with smart playlists. Roon is not even willing to import those ratings in it's database in order to use them in the Focus tool. With Roon you get ONE view on your collection, with JRiver Media Center you get your own. Roon uses allmusic.com to tag the albums which is completely frustrating in the case of classical music. There is more than one reason to use both ...
  5. ZENITH regarding UPnP: does the system also provide a UPnP renderer (not only a server)? Background of this question is that I want to use the system not only as a Roon device, but also as a JRiver device. If not, the Innuos for me were a NOGO, as is e.g. the Aries G2 and the bluesound based solutions. Then I go into the direction of Naim or Cocktail Audio or ? ... My overall aim is a one box solution plus two active speakers (Dynaudio Focus, Kii Three or?) plus one audiophile cable. ?
  6. Look at Cocktail Audio network players, e.g. the x50 ... the swiss army knife of the industry. ?
  7. In addition to the problem with the dedicated galvanic isolated USB output on the Aries G2 there is a serious SHOW STOPPER for me: beginning with the G2 series AURALiC has given up UPnP support. For me UPnP is essential because I use Roon AND JRiver in parallel (at least for the next couple of years). Another thing is to be forced to use the Apple ecosystem with Lightning DS. Where is the already announced HTML5 based LDS? And if you want to achieve the best results out of the G2 series you have to buy and place a tower of 4 boxes. No, thank you. There are alternatives on the market: Naim, PS Audio, Cocktail Audio, T+A, Lindemann, Chord ...
  8. Thank you. I'll give it a try. ?
  9. Interesting! How do you import your existing tags?
  10. Roon is only a value for beginners. People who used to manage their music collection seriously by JRiver for years and years would lose control over it with Roon ... to someone in the cloud. Don't get me wrong: I like the cloud, but I do not need Roon to play Tidal, Quobuz and Spotify.
  11. Roon is not able to import the tagging and sorting people have done with JRiver, MediaMonkey or MP3tag. They seem to refuse user request in this direction. You cannot re-use your self-created value (www.allmusic.com is only ONE source of information), and you cannot rate your tracks and use these ratings in playlist, not to speak about track rating when playing through your home network. Tidal integration in Roon is great (and will be even better when integrated with Roon Radio), but these streaming services come and go ... so what about Spotify and all the others? For these reasons I'm still using JRiver while I allready own a Roon lifetime licence.
  12. DAC + Streamer + Upsampler + Clock ~ $20.000. No Amp. No LS. Forced to IOS. SQ must be intergalactic impressive! Heavy competition.
  13. Thank you athletico for this first impression. Your setup is also very exciting. I understand that you do not need an extra DAC. Did you ever try the analogue inputs of the Kiis?
