  1. Could it be that eliminating switches or other hardware restores absolute polarity of the audio signal? On high quality systems that could make a significant change in SQ for the better. I for one would rather toss my digital frippery aside than listen to reversed polarity. Sent from my iPad using Computer Audiophile
  2. I have been listening to a pair of Audiostatic DCM5's electrostatic line source panels for 15 years or so. No panel degradation at all. Could not be happier with the sound: spaciousness, timbral accuracy, transient speed and all that, in spades. A bit of a downside though is their sensitivity to high humidity on summer days. The panels don't seem to couple to the air as effectively as on normal days. Or perhaps my eardrums are sweaty, I don't know. Sent from my iPad using Computer Audiophile
  3. Thanks Cebolla, I thought the lack of a USB output would make it impossible for DSD, but apparently it's not. Great advice! Sent from my iPad using Computer Audiophile
  4. On the subject of native Tidal streaming, anyone interested in swapping my Moon Mind 180 for a microRendu? Need DSD, don't care for Tidal. Sent from my iPad using Computer Audiophile
  5. I don't know the Schiit but as a mx-dac user (in my headphone rig) I have to say the balanced output sounds great, especially with DSD. Sent from my iPad using Computer Audiophile
  6. The latest incarnation of the Mind app is really not that bad. SQ is very good, although PCM only, when fed by a good linear power supply. I've enjoyed mine for almost two years now, with a toslink connection to an aging Benchmark DAC1. It plays hires without any problems from my nas. I cannot comment on the helpfulness of the Simaudio staff because I've never had to contact them.
  7. I like your incremental approach to sonic bliss. Mine has developed along similar lines. Big part of the fun is the discovery of yet another jump in SQ. I suspect this growth path of learning and experience enhances the appreciation of good sound to no end. Good luck with the evolvement of your system.
