  1. Hello Marc, The issue that you are running into is the optical out on your Mac is limited to 96k sample rates. Anything above that (176k, 192k, 352k, 384k) will be handed off to iTunes for processing as Amarra does not do any real time up or down sampling. Our feeling is that real time sample rate conversion results in non bit-perfect, inconsistent output and recommend doing any sample rate conversion offline through the use of Amarra's Background Manager or other such utility. Once you down sample your 192k files to 96k, you should have no problem playing them through Amarra and you will not need to manually set your DAC to any sample rate, Amarra will do that for you. Once you get a DAC that supports 192k via either USB or Firewire, you should have no issue playing your 192k files. If you have any other questions, please direct them to [email protected]
  2. Just a note, we've run into some instances where 44.1k files downloaded from HD Tracks were being identified as 44k, but were actually 48k files. We've alerted HD Tracks to this.
  3. To offer some clarification, converting the file using the Amarra convert FLAC to AIFF commands is not the issue. We have seen a small number of isolated cases where tracks ripped with XLD into ALAC format has issues and the workaround is to use the internal ripper on your Mac in those cases. The primary issue why Amarra is not playing back is likely the 44.1k support of the internal DAC. Amarra will not do realtime downsampling as this results in non-bit perfect output and potentially inconsistent results. We recommend downsampling the file offline using the Amarra Background Manager and then play the new file back at it's new native sample rate.

The Vertical UI is not available in MINI. It is only available in Amarra and is accessible from the Amarra Preferences window. Please note you must restart Amarra to change UI.

Hi all, Thanks for your comments and we believe we've isolated the bug regarding the Amarra volume control. We expect to have that resolved shortly. In the meantime, the iTunes volume control should work fine as a temporary workaround. We've also tested ALAC files and they seem to work fine. Please contact us so we may set continue to assist in isolating the issue. We appreciate your patience and please send comments to [email protected] so we can address them in future releases.
