  1. The DSD section is discrete. The PCM section is semi discrete. BR Sonny
  2. Class D output stage has only two states high and low or "1" and "0" This is digital . The following LC lowpass filter filters it and the average value is analog just like in a DSD DAC.
  3. I know that Geoffrey .. The system choice for the DSD demo tells that the choices are made on quality rather than profit You know Geoffrey I am a pure analog man and I still believe linear amplifiers outperforms class D in transparency when done right. But the system that you have on display had a good balance. And as said the complete system performed very well. So the choice you and Edward had made was very good. And if an linear amp should be better it will also be more expensive than the Taiko... So congrats from me
  4. Geoffrey and Edward ... You can both be proud of the sound. As I said yesterday a lot of systems on 1. And 2. Floor was not as good as this, and then we can take the price into account and your system is a bargain even if the server price said "ouch". But it is your take on compromise free server. So I think it is fair.
  5. Yes it was running very smooth. Also the difference between PCM and DSD was a good demonstration of the improvement possible. Was it you bibo01 that asked for the red book comparison? The chassis was nice as well
  6. No, i am sorry. At the time for the exhibition planning started we where not ready. Mit deiner name gehe ich davon aus dass du aus deutchland stamt? Wenn das der fall ist könnten wir vielleicht einer demo machen aber es hängt davon ab wo do zuhörhst
  7. I have not been able to test it yet, but when you go up in frequency what we see with Digital and analog circuits is that the digital signal starts to feed through into the analog path. But if it is only the master clock and the feedthrough is uniform, then the lowpass filter takes care of that. DSD512 would require a 44.592MHz clock and if you use digital isolators distortion in timing starts to get a bigger problem. I do not say it is a problem but it is something that needs to be addressed or at least checked. BR Sonny
  8. Hi, sorry i did not reply right away. I needed to do some read up on the forum before making a post. I have spoken with Edward a couple of times of the last 1 1/2 year i think. We have also written emails together. He is a really nice guy and has done a lot of work on the DSD platform. I really are looking forward to meet Edward and others at the Munich Show. I will be at the DSD fest as well. Will Audiopax be there as well? BR Sonny
