  1. You can't see the covers in Songs mode, the only mode when you can select by Composers/Groupings. One step back.
  2. Turn off Time Machine. Open the Terminal and $ sudo mdutil -a -i off It disables Spotlight. Other system services better to be not touched.
  3. It's not useless to differentiate hardware upsampling (usually max. 4x, e.g. to 192kHz) and oversampling (8x-64x in the DAC chip) because some DACs do both, most do just oversampling though.
  4. One could keep two tracks in the memory, the currently played and the next one. A couple of secs before the end of the current one, the next would be read into the memory.
  5. I really don't get it why these hirez merchants couldn't take 5 minutes for a quick spectrum check on a random track from material they receive from an external publisher. Is it better to sell it then pull it and damaging their own reputation?
  6. LiFePO4 battery is considered to be the best for audio purposes (low internal ?, high C). It's safe unlike LiPo batteries.
  7. Yeah! I would give it The Rant Of The Month Award™ !
  8. "It is 5.20GB" Maybe the operating system or the unzip application couldn't handle the size of the archive? Maybe 2 or 4GB max?
  9. Standard headphones out is weak for high end Sennheisers.
  10. He's got a French maid to switch sample rate and restart iTunes.
  11. At 100% volume, the original samples go out grilled to bit perfection. As the volume decreases the sample values got decreased mercilessly, limiting the dynamic range. Not recommended. And now... ;D
  12. iTunes is not an "internal audio element", it's the source. Keep volume at 100% and EQ off and you're fine and dandy.
  13. If you don't want to spend more $$ then you can't buy a DAC... Anyways do you use the extension cord with the laptop's power brick or it goes directly into the power outlet? Before I got a DAC I plugged my MBP into an amp, too, and had "hum" when I didn't use the extension cord for the power brick.
