    HQ Player

Driver is correct, still Holo Audio. I don't let Windows do driver updates, it frequently fails Dac was enabled in Roon. I disabled it and now DSD plays fine. Not sure how this happened, I know better but it's been so long, i did not think to look for that. Thanks to both of you..

Yes, I am. Never been a problem before.

    HQ Player

Somewhat new issue, hqplayer will not output pcm converted to dsd. i have used HQP4 and HQP5 and this was not an issue until sometime recently. Familiar with the settings and all appear to be correct and unchanged. Set to sdm but it uses the pcm settings. The upgrade copied the hqp4 settings but still pcm only gets played. Fresh install? Or something I am missing?
  4. Consider the Mark & Daniel Maximus monitor line up. I have the Rubies, no sweet spot problems, no cabinet coloration at all, no sub needed. Using with Schiit Tyr monos, bass instruments are clear and detailed as well as percussion. Good luck with your search. Mark & Daniel
  5. Somehow it now works, but not on all albums and there seems to be multiple listings of the same album. I'll figure it out.
  6. I was under the impression yo will have a paid app
  7. Allow me to jump in from the cold. I'd be interested in an app version. Save me having to configure anything using a zip file
  8. On the ios and android conversions of v4, I can't seem to get anything to play. I can select an album and the choices are there, add, add and play, add replace and play etc. but nothing ever makes it to the player despite getting a response that this has happened after my selection. If i start playback on the desktop with hq player, it fills in the remote correctly with the queue and I can control playback. I can't successfully add anything to the queue though. Do I need to have hqplayer client running as well?
  9. I saw a terrific review of the May dac. A song is referenced ,The Appeal by The Toadies from the album Heretics. Song starts with a panning organ, the bass drops and than a tambourine starts with a simple beat. For him, it was revelation, the space in the rear was lit up by the tambourine, it is not loud but well established by the May dac. For me, it was at first, what tambourine? Going thru some speaker moving it became, Hunh, that's a tambourine? Downloading the latest hqp and settling for poly sinc long and NS9 and upsampling 4x, it became, ah, there it is right center and it's a tambourine. Not quite what I was hoping for but I use the Morpheus, not the May and could probably shift my speakers and traps some, and maybe get a May. So hqp does do something. Anyone could likely repeat this, listening for the tambourine and how it resolves and changes with different filters and dithers. Qobuz sourced. roon - hqp - ethernet- pi2aes ropieeexl naa - i2s - Morpheus. Alternate route was thru USB Xspdif and aes, did okay, hqp arrangement did better
  10. Powerful Headphone Amp and NOS Dac for DSD. NOS enabled for DSD to allow your own filters and modulators for HQPlayer, etc.....Upgraded ClocksReviews and infohttps://primeaudio.org/singxer-sda-2-review/https://forum.headphones.com/t/singxer-sda-2c/3474https://www.audio “science” review/...da-2-dac-and-headphone-amplifier-review.9525/https://kitsunehifi.com/product/singxer-sda-2c/It also serves as a pre amp, balanced and single ended, fully discrete.USB solution provided by Singxer is highly regarded with their well know DDC's.optical, spdif, AES, USB and HDMI I2S inputs which can be adapted with switches on the bottom of the amp.I used this with HQPlayer, upsampling all music to DSD 512. Sonnet Morpheus was calling though and I fell under the spell.headphone output30Ω 3480mW75Ω 1640mW150Ω 920mW300Ω 440mW600Ω 220mWThere is very little out there, dynamic or planar, that this won't drive.Very nice all in one .9 lbs 6 0z shipping from 33134 16" x 12" x 10 " at cost $550.00 obo
  11. Did you hook it up to a power supply? A usb charger should work. If it does, you can consider a better unit. Mine is powered by by a LPS.
  12. I have and like it quite a bit. I used HQplayer and upsampled everything to DSD. It has a discrete analog circuit, fully balanced, great headphone output and a very good preamp. I ran into the Sonnet Morpheus though and I am not using the SDA 2c anymore, HQPlayer has so many options, I never went thru them all. The Morpheus just blew my speakers out, in a good way, detail, stage, everything expanded, depth, width, height, did I mention detail. I may have been able to get here with the SDA2 c and HQPlayer, I dunno.
  13. I guess speculation is the order of the day then as no one really wants to know, I have to turn to the right and get back to work, y'all have a great Valentine's/Friday.
  14. 143? 150? not very different and I suspect the spec was measured not calculated. You can speculate all you want but until you know how it was measured and duplicate it, (or correct it) you can't know. So if you do want to know, you should ask.
